Multiplying Wrecks

I've submitted some bug reports, and have in the process figured out something that everyone else probably already knows about. That's why I'm asking my question here, rather than in the bug forum.
First I found doors that I couldn't cut through easily, because the laser cutter progress kept resetting. Then I noticed that there were multiple door cut-outs left by each of those. Then I noticed things I'd pick up which would be left in place, and I realized that some wrecks are doubled, tripled, even quadrupled, all occupying the same space.
My question is: when this happens, is there any way to correct it other than restarting the game? I just restarted, because I was getting serious lag in the vicinity of these multiplying wrecks. I've done a bit of Googling, but have found no solutions, only complaints. Any suggestions?

Clear your cache that is the only thing that works for now. It does reset terrain tho, if your building were built into things it will clip. You can keep cache files for just the cells with offending building of your base and delete others if it's an issue.
Added benefit lets say you scanned all the pieces and cleared cache. NONE of scanned pieces will ever load from that point. If you scanned seaglide you will never see another piece of it. If however you lose that blueprint(console or reset your scene-objects.bin) clearing cache files will bring those pieces back. Resources are also reset. PDA/books etc will respawn but it will do nothing since you already have them. If you repaired leaking aurora drive core it will stay repaired that isn't tied to cells.
I'd get used to building in a way that doesn't effect terrain since terraforming is being removed or at least UWE plans to for 1.0
Here is the guide for it it's very simple - http://forums.unknownworlds.com/discussion/146057/an-updated-guide-fix-crashes-lag-stuttering-and-keep-your-saves-through-subnautica-upgrades
I was already trying to build without deforming the terrain, for aesthetic reasons. Every time the terrain has deformed for me, bits got left behind. I don't want to look at a floating piece of coral forever, so, trying to leave the landscape intact. Also, I like the idea of minimal-impact construction. When it's eventually time to leave the planet, I can deconstruct everything and all will be as it was.
