The crash is apparently related to something in my base, probably the fabricator I added to the cyclops.
Or maybe the potato I added to my garden but that seems unlikely because I had done it many times before.

Exactly the same thing has happened to me after about the same amount of play. Finally got a seamoth, decided to go for a drive and constantly crashes. Can't play the game for more than 5 seconds before it all crashes with the same message that you get on screen

Two crashs occurred in a ~20min gaming period at two different places both when riding the seamoth.
the first time, when getting out the GrandReef through the north end leading to the kelp forrest :
