Multiplayer?

What's up everyone. So I've had this idea for a while and I'm sure many people have as well but I feel like a multiplayer aspect of the game would be absolutely amazing. Imagine it, 2 different people launch from the Aurora and land in different areas of the world. Maybe one's in safe and ones in grand reef or perhaps they get lucky and land in the same general area. I was playing around and exploring with the Cyclopes and thought, "Hmm, this would be interesting if you could have one person driving to a target location and someone could hop in the Sea Moth and get some materials on the way then go back and park back inside. You could build a base together and survive to the extreme. I know that multiplayer is hard to implement into a game but it would make it so interesting. Make it so you and one other friend can play, and maybe make it so hunger and thirst are more impact, draining faster, and that you take a bit more damage. but basically make it so that it's an enhanced experience. Things are harder to do, but more fun with another person. It'd make that lonely ocean seam a bit less lonely. I know that this is a hard topic for the dev's because multiplayer is never east to add to a game but i just felt that i could leave this here. If you have thoughts please leave them below. I love this game and love seeing it grow, since back when the story wasn't even fleshed and the inactive lava zone was a big black mesh of "lava." this game holds a special place in my heart and i can't wait to see it follow through. If a dev responds to this i'll feel honored and it'll be really good information to go back on. Anyway thank you everyone for your time I hope you all enjoy the game as much as I have.

Please, don't think I'm overloading you with hate, it's just that this issue has come up so often it's basically a comedy at this point.
I think your idea for multiplayer in subnautica is really fantastic, but the devs have said no (multiple times). Just search "multiplayer" in either "ideas and suggestions" or "general discussion" and you'll see exactly how many times we've been around this circuit...
EDIT:
before this becomes a d-day style battleground of "multiplayer vs. non-multiplayer,*" I think it would be more productive if we took this time to share all Subnautica multiplayer memes we have created, found, or otherwise noticed.
* I sincerely hope that it would not derail into such an ideological massacre, but just on the off-chance that we haven't learned from the 3+ other recent multiplayer threads...
P.S. @Psychoactive you get a complementary awesome on your first post.
The devs are interested in allowing modding, so there's that, but it is very low on their list for the foreseeable future.
Tbh, I'm inclined to think the "cool ones" are singleplayer simply because multiplayer is a pain to do right. Looking at reviews of games like Rust and Ark, by far most complaints are about how poorly balanced multiplayer is and how the game rewards mob mentality. A game like SN does not have to consider the factor of "people being people" and can focus on making one good experience for one person.
Ah I didnt mean mass multiplayer like ark or rust. I mean more of a, me and my best friend, kind of thing. Like just merging 2 games rather than everyone. I would much prefer to play with one other person than have a mass multiplayer of SN. I just get so lonely in that ocean lol
I'd like to see a "Don't Starve" and "Don't Starve Together" type thing. Subnautica gets released, gets money, and maybe years later the devs can release an expansion/updated sequel that allows for the much-desired Co-op element.
No it isn't.
The developers are so far into the game that they have passed the point where it is even possible to add multiplayer. They planned on doing it but lost their vision of multiplayer and focused on a single-player experience. I don't know the ins-and-outs, but I assume the code has gotten rather confusing at this stage, and adding a whole other bunch with a new player would take a very long time, as well as new character animations.
Like @Kyman201 said, they would have to make a whole new game at this point if they wanted to add multiplayer. He has said this numerous times now, and frankly I feel sorry for the guy for having to repeat this so much now. What he hasn't pointed out, however, is that although Don't Starve is a great game in its own right, it is just so much smaller and simpler than Subnautica, and making a new multiplayer version of it would have been much easier than it is to make a multiplayer Subnautica now.
Just my thoughts on the matter. I never talk about multiplayer much. I'm surprised it went on that long
it is possible for modders to add multiplayer to a game, it is a long hard process but it is possible. And it's all good that we dont get multiplayer from the devs. they are already giving us so much as it is
Eh, Psychoactive seems to have literally just joined today. Can't get too angry at someone new.
