just downloaded the game. but for some reason there seems to be something wrong in the build 18 folder. ive been looking everywhere for options to fix it, because i really want to play the game.
it keeps loading with a second counter, until it starts loading world tiles and displays the error. (the second counter keeps going so it does not freeze)
i've tried reinstalling and verifing the files multiple times, since i know the error is being caused by faulty files. however it still doesnt work after trying this over ten times
after trying all these things i'd really like to know if someone found an actual solution to this...
ver. 42313 dec-2016
my pc is far above the recommended specs so that shouldn't be any problem.
(update) it seems there are a couple of files in the build 18 folder with name conflicts, even if i delete them or use these to replace the originals it does not work.

Comments
2) Verify your Steam local game files
3) Clear your cache
Instructions for all 3 can be found in my sig ▼ down there.

Please provide screenshots of the error using services that don't require logging in. Some examples would be: Google Drive, Dropbox, TinyPic, Imgur, Photobucket, etc.
No, Build18 is part of Steam verification. If you have multiple hard drives, be sure that you ran chkdsk on the drive that Subnautica is installed to (if you're not sure, right-click Subnautica in Steam, hit Properties, go to the "Local Files" tab, and click "Browse Local Files").
still happens when i try to make a new game, (also tried all the gamemodes to confirm)

i just want to play T^T
Both of you try this:
1) Clear your cache once more
2) Move your SavedGames folder from the Subnautica\SNAppData folder to your Desktop (right-click SavedGames, Cut, then right-click a blank spot on your Desktop, Paste).
3) Completely uninstall Subnautica.
4) Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common and if the folder Subnautica is still there, delete it.
5) Re-install Subnautica.
6) Move your SavedGames folder back to Subnautica\SNAppData
Does that ▲ work?
i'm also about to give up since i have been looking for an answer for over 2 weeks now...
rest of my specs are seeable here:

also have a geforce gtx 1060 with 6 gb
also the only thing he could tell me was whiping all the files and reinstalling, which ive been doing for a long time already...
I have 6 files in build18 marked as conflicts, but it does not stop me loading the game. I assume that since they are labelled 'conflict' that the game or steam deals with them and works around it.
That ▲ points to other things, like outdated drivers. Do you have your manufacturer drivers for your video card, or the generic ones Windows 7 installs automatically?
Also, if your game used to work at one point, try doing a system restore to a date when it worked. If that fixes the problem, then the issue is with something Windows did with drivers or an update.
The only other thing I could think of would be a corrupt Subnautica registry entry, but I think Steam verifies those as well? Not sure.
If you mean GSync, set it to fullscreen only. Unity is having problems with GSync and won't go above 24FPS with it on. Since Subnautica is actually a full-screen window, not true full screen, setting GSync to fullscreen only will disable it for Subnautica.
