I wouldn't had thought there be a problem with you creating these for yourself, the issues tend to arise when you want to sell them!
Great work so far btw.. why don't you design the cockpit in clear plastic and then get shapeways to print it for you?
I have a plastic forming machine that I could technically do something with, but I like the open cockpit . And yup, I have no urge to sell these or even make the STL files available, If the dev's gave permission I would let the STL's loose though
Hey can you sell these....please we have like no cool SN merch @DatenThielt
Unfortunately selling them would get me into a ton of trouble, I'm not in the habit of making money off someone else's hard work All I did was grab the model, clean it up after the export process then made it compatible with 3D printing Plus this print was very rough due to me not re-calibrating after my last material print. Maybe they can be given away in some community contest but not doing anything without the devs permission
So I am either doing a Peeper next, or the Cyclops. If I do the Cyclops I am actually going to try and make it big enough to house the seamoth. Will take some work most certainly.
I cant share the model unfortunately as it would most likely get me in trouble with the dev's. But I can say without going into much detail that using a vertex scraper on the game is how I got mine.

Thanks for the hint. I have no idea what it means. But I know lots of smart people who would explain this to me if I asked--not that I'd understand their answer.

Dammit...now I want to buy a 3D printer and give my axolotls some Subnautica ornaments to play around with.

If you used 3D Ripper DX or ninjaripper than may you give me the model?
