<div class="IPBDescription">help</div> Before I installed NS, I had the retail Half-Life with Counter-Strike installed. My mic worked perfectly fine. After I installed NS, the voice button stopped working (yes, i checked the configuration). I thought it might've just been my button (I was press down on teh mouse wheel to use the mic) so I tried setting it to another button. But the lil' sound icon in the bottom right corner doesn't evne pop up!! So I tried going through all congiruations, and they were all fine. So I uninstalled NS. When i went back to CS, my mic stopped working there too! Same problem!! All configurations are correct. Help me!! Typing in CS is so.. difficult.

Sorri, fergot dis info.

- CPU speed and make (Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz)

- Operating system (Windows XP Home Edition)
- Graphics mode and resolution you're running in (OpenGL or D3D) (Open GL at 640x480)
- Detailed description of the problem, and what exactly you were doing before the problem occured. (above)
- Whether or not you're running EAX. (Don't run EAX.) (What's this?)

Have you checked on the sound control panel to make sure that your input is selected as MIC instead of (perhaps) Line-In?

In windows XP you can go Start->Run and enter "sndvol32.exe -service -r" without the quotes to popup the relevant panel.

I had this problem as well, pressing the button (also use the mousewheel), seeing the speaker, but no sound coming through (voice_loopback 1).

Go to customize and unselect 'Use microphone for voice communication'. That fixed it for me (after running windows recordtest).

    Also try this link: <a href='http://clan-scot.com/ContentFiles/TricksTips/AudioIssues.htm' target='_blank'>http://clan-scot.com/ContentFiles/TricksTi...AudioIssues.htm</a>

    Bit old, but still helpfull.

It's not that. THe lil' sound icon doesn't even pop out. I think NS screwed it up somehow.

    When in-game enter 'voice_enable 1' and 'voice_loopback 1'.

Try your binded key. If it doesn't work, bind another one:

'bind <key> +voicerecord'. <key> can be any key except CAPS LOCK. It can't be bounded in NS (dunno why).

Also make sure your mic is turned on and plugged in right.

Ì gather my intel from the vegtable gods high up in the gardens. They know everything.

I had my Voice Comm key also binded to CAPS LOCK, but it didn't work. So I bound it to somewhere I always wanted it (mouse3). There I got some problems with it and I fixed it as explained in above posts.
