Base Legs (Alternatives?)

You know how you can rotate the ghosts of the base buildings before placing them? Could you please make them rotate through legged or no-legged varieties?

I hate the legs. Sorry, but I just really hate them unless my base is down close to the ground.

It could go with legs, switch to second rotation, first rotation without legs, second rotation without legs... repeat from the top.

Sometimes those spindly legs go places where such things don't belong. It just looks awkward and absurd at times. :(

Don't worry. In the future the legs will be longer and foundations will be gone.

Yeah, I hate the longer legs. :(

    And I like the foundations!!

So that's not a "don't worry" for me, my friend. Thank you for trying, though.

I wish the current vertical base connector could be used as a support. In its simplest form, you could build down from a current base, until hit hits the seafloor - at which point it could become a "support" and the other supports could go away.

Alternatively, you could build the connector first, from the seafloor, up to where you want to build your base.

The main reason is to remove terraforming. Since all base parts can terraform the land. They will all have longer legs and will look better. The foundations will be remove then. I'm sorry if you like them but they have to be removed.

It sucks. I like the foundatoins, and I hate the legs. they do NOT look better. :(

Foundations don't even have legs. They will just float. Right now the legs look bad. They will look better than what they are. I don't see a point of the foundations. You can't even center stuff on them.

Well, why do the foundations have to be removed? Doing explanations can help open up ideas that can work. A wide range of structural integrity/protection from the elements things can be done.

EDIT: I guess the explanation is that they terraform the land and that's completely out? How about "floating foundations" then?

I can't stand when there is legs on moonpools that are suspended. What about underwater floats, like the ones on the beacon?

The foundations are great for making outdoor gardens high up in the 'boughs' of your base's tree. They are nice for putting solar panels on. They're nice for above-water bases so you can put "indoor" plants on them.

And the legs are hideous. They look like daddy longleg spiders. :(

They do have legs, you can see that if they are close enough to land. Although I agree about removing foundations. I like to have a mix of foundations and base components spanning between them with no legs, I hope the legs get some sort of controls to switch them off.

Wait, what happens if you make two layers of base parts, then deconstruct the lower layer? No legs? Or do they spawn in when the game gets loaded after saving?

personally i like the foundations i have a spot in the shallows where i can build part of my base above water i just think the legs could made to look more like pilings

They pop in immediately every time you take an action. So in your scenario, as soon as you remove the bottom ones, the top ones put down roots.

xP Figures. Thanks for checking though.

An "alternative" is to not allow any multipurpose rooms to attach if the sea floor is too far down. Perhaps also preventing deconstruction of base connectors that would leave a room floating. An issue with that is that you would have to have some sort to linkage to change levels. Perhaps a flexible concertina like "tube" link made of joined rings to join bases at different levels? It might also be able to join base segments that are misaligned. I expect that would require quite a lot of coding though as the game would have to calculate the optimal "ring" placement to make a nice link tube.
