I have not been able to play Subnautica since the engine upgrade.
I love Subnautica so much, and it's driving me nuts that I am unable to play it.
I don't know how to make it work, . All I get is a black screen and an error message, which tells me to debug it sometimes, but it does nothing.
My computer is high-end and was able to play this game on experimental detail, but after the engine upgrade couldn't play. don't know why.
if someone can help me to play this game again, , I would greatly appreciate it.
please help, someone who love this game so much, please.

2) Verify your game files with Steam. There's a link in my signature for that as well.
3) Does it give you crash log folders? Use the link in the first line of my signature below ▼ for uploading your saved game folder, and use that to upload the crash logs.
I realize you probably shouldn't have to do any of that, but, things happen, so we're trying to eliminate anything that might have gotten messed up.
what a chkdsk ? never mind figured it out, but games not working
1) Run chkdsk on the drive that has Subnautica on it.
2) Verify your game files with Steam (scroll down to the "Installation" section).
3) Upload your saved game folder, including crash logs.
updating drive
drive up to data, no disk error and no idea how to find saved game folder my computer window 10
If u really want to play that bad and none of this fixed your issue then u have two options. Contact devs for support bc we cant help u further. Or reinstall your OS because it only on your computer that this is occurring.
last installed the latest video upgrade last night nothing
In steam library, right click Subnautica, and select properties.
On the General tab, click Set Launch Options...
Paste this into the box:
-window-mode exclusive
Click OK, then close.
YOU FIX IT THX YOU SO MUCH
FYI , adding Steam launch option "-window-mode exclusive " did not improve my crashing.
That said I've not had a crash for a couple of weeks and I haven't had the problem of world not loading either, so I think the devs have fixed something recently that caused at least some of the problems.
