I'm a few hours in, and have a couple of suggestions

Beautiful game AND compelling game-play. Well done! Couple of things:

Crafting
  • If I have all the prerequisite components in my inventory, please let me just click the final product, and all the precursors get made and combined automatically - Factorio-style. At present, I have to make the bleach, and then make the disinfected water. I don't mind waiting, but the extra clicking is a pain-point.
  • It would be nice if I could cue up a few items, and make - for instance - several batteries with one click. Even if I have to sit there watching the animation grind each one out, at least I can sip my drink while I wait.

Inventory management
It would be wonderful if items could stack. It doesn't have to be a crazy 999 items in a stack, but ANY arbitrary number would be better than 'one'. Inventory management spoils the fun. I'm only a few hours in, and my hab is crammed with un-named lockers crammed with stuff. If there were some great reason for making it hard, I could accept that, but at present, it's a pain point.

Hunger/thirst
It would be great if I could build some kind of machine that would slowly produce food and water - much like the first-aid kit dispenser. It could be expensive and require lots of energy, but I'd rather be exploring to find components for a machine, than spending a day chasing bladderfish. That said, I'm new to the game, and trying to play unspoiled. There may be just such a machine already in the game :*

Combat
Some giant claw-faced monster bit my Seamoth in half. I squealed and wee-ed myself a bit. It was wonderful, don't change a thing.

The game has several means of making food easier to acquire. You should have the gravsphere available, at least, which functions as a net to make catching fish a little easier. The rest you'll come across in due time.

Thanks for the tip, DrownedOut. I have also just discovered a device to help with water. So much fun to be had in this game!

I opened this suggestion while waiting for Factorio to boot up. Weird.

I like the crafting suggestion, but I'm not sure about everything else. Subnautica's inventory system isn't designed for item stacking and works fine as-is.

The food and water producing machine your thinking of is plants. Growing plants.

For combat, you'll get a few non-lethal weapons but can also torpedoes for your seamoth.

Yeah, Reapers. Um...you know how a rubber ducky is a cute little toy that makes a funny noise when you squeeze it? Well, turns out - interesting little accident here - that a Seamoth is the Reaper equivalent of a rubber ducky. And man do they like that noise.
