Base Maintenance

So while playing I built a large base with everything I thought I'd need and then some. But I forgot supports and it started to form holes and flood. The ensuing struggle to fix my base, drain the water, get my battery charge back online, and keep getting oxygen was one of the most stressful moments I'd had in the game and when it was all said and done I felt both relieved and fullfilled. Having to build hatches and drain, fix, and reinforce each section felt rewarding and fun. It was a struggle but the good kind of struggle. The most disappointing moment was actually after I finally built enough reinforcements and I no longer ever had to worry about holes again and my hatches felt like more of decoration than anything useful. After all with more than enough reianforments it was practically impossible to get holes in my base. So I feel like there was some potential there for some interesting moments that could make things interesting, but as is sorely feels lacking. I'm not asking for a constant maintaince similar to a chore be added, thatd ruin things. But instead a reason to think more strategic with base placement and to actually want to build hatches. Where events could happen where some creatures could attack and cause serious damage to your base, random leeks to spring, fired break out, electronicso explode. And equipment gets damaged by fires and water forcing you to fix them. Plants in indoor gardens drown leaving only seeds. This could force players to try to hide the base by finding caves to build in, or use the tera former to do it. Actually feel the need to plan ahead with base building and build hatches. And give interesting moments of stress to catch players of gaurds add excitement to lulls in game play. It would also make things feel more organic and interesting.

All of this and more (like equipment getting damaged by flooding, fires breaking out) are on the devs' mind, but not feasible before V1.0 (at least not when it was set for May. We'll have to say what the September deadline means). If after V1.0 development can continue, we'll probably get a more complicated experience.
