Could a chrome book version of subnautica happen?

I only could afford a chrome book and I really want to play. But the process to do it is very complicated and other people with a chrome book would tell you the same thing. So could the developers make a chrome book version in the near future? If they could that would make many people happy.

ChromeOS is basically a Linux distribution right? Maybe you could perhaps run Wine on it... But, I'm not so sure a resource hog like pre-release Subnautica will be able to run on Wine or even a Chromebook, what with it being an emulator of sorts... Also, what is the hardware/specs situation? Aren't these Chrome Books more orientated towards office and internet kinda use?

I've tried. It doesn't work sadly. The office part is true but the OS Subnautica version could have less dramatic graphics I think it would run fine but the lag spikes would be terrible.

After 1.0, perhaps, depending on what the Chromebook specs were ( you could always run it at a really low resolution with options turned off ).

I'm not so sure that Chrome books are really that close to being the pinnacle of gaming computers. I am not an expert, but it seems like a lot of stuff on Chromebooks are cloud-based, and I'd be surprised if you could even store the entire game on it. My roommate can barley do his chem homework on his, and he cant even save anything from a flash drive unless he is connected to a network.

No it's not that close but it can still be used as a gaming computer.

Subnautica still needs a beast though, so is your Chrome Book a beast, so to speak :D
