Same thing happened to me today, ten minutes of play and it crashes to the homescreen. I reload the game and then it freezes when you try and load the save requiring a force close, then reloading is fine after that (but ten minutes later it crashes again).
I've tried clearing the xbox cache (holding down the power button until the xbox resets and clears and unplugging power for 2 minutes) but the problem persists.

My guess would be -
Animation: Fixed a bug where deactivating a GameObject with an attached Animator might cause a crash. (822232)
Graphics: Fix crash where more than 16 terrains are used. (871261)
are the fixes UWE are hoping will eliminate crashing in Subnautica.
unable to play with my main xbox live user name account since the April update. It won't get passed the loading screen. I have to use a different xbox account name (which is not xbox live). I've uninstalled the game and all data 3 times with no success.
As mentioned before, set the XB for an "ECONO" start in settings.
Just an hour ago, 17:00 PST, I tried to load a save and the loading screen with the crashing Aurora did
not load.
I used the 'White X button' to quit and restarted SN. The save loaded.
I have reinstalled SN over 10 times since the "Infected update" all to no avail.

So what exactly does it mean when you guys upgrade to a new version of Unity? Better graphics, performance, etc?
Wow... that's a lot of changes. xD

Will we need to start with a new save for the new version of Unity to run properly, or will that not matter? (update soon maybe ?)
Note: The Unity 5.6 update is taking UWE more time than originally expected (especially on XB).
