[Important] Scanner room list scroll

As mentioned in other posts the scanner room is very useful but the items shown are not all and in random order. It is very important to get a list of all scanner room items so that you can scan to the resource you want to find.

Yeah, much as I love this room, I fear it might be received poorly if its not changed before game release. According to the game's wiki a scroll bar solution is planned. Personally I hope they use a 'sampling' solution (i.e. you give the room a sample of what you want it to look for).

The list is not random. The list is in alphabetical order. Some items are missing, but AFAICT most if not all of the missing are just higher up in the alphabet, pushed off the bottom of the current 10-entry list.

Until UWE puts in the new display (that picture is way cool!) there's a partial workaround. Save and exit the game, then restart and reload. The list is built up over time and you can sometimes catch an item that will later be pushed off the bottom as others are added.

Scrolling list for the Scanner Room would be awesome. Let's all band together and boycott the game until they make the Scanner Room scrollable.

Why not just offer a search bar so we could type in what we wanted to look for? They already have the mechanism in place to accept keyboard input for editing signs and such.

A scrolling list would probably be easier for multiple language support. Besides, trying to enter a word in a platform like Xbox would be a pain...

That card was put into the backlog before the image was posted on it. They probably just haven't gotten around to moving it back out yet.

Well, since we've got a couple more months until 1.0 launches, I'd say there's plenty of time for that Trello card to be brought out of backlog and worked on.

They've gone more than a year without fixing the bulkheads. It feels like they think the base building is good enough for now and don't care that there are several pieces people will see as important that are completely broken.

I'm sure they are aware of this. The just have other things they chose to fix first. If i was a dev, it wouldn't be on the top of my priority list, either.

I agree; this needs to be in the 1.0 version. It's currently at the top of the backlog, so let's hope it makes it onto the To Do list.

Yes, it now has a scroll bar. Finally!! This will actually make it worth it to build scanner range upgrades - and maybe even a speed upgrade. Perhaps by making four range upgrades and a load of materials for a portable mini scanner-room base, the eternal hunt for those elusive wrecks will actually become fun, rather then a major pain. Kudos to the developers for letting the scanner room finally live up to its potential! We appreciate it!

This change will make it worth while to start yet another new game, just to see if if the improved scanner rooms really will help me find those wrecks I always have trouble with.
