It's funny I play Empyrion and when I come into Subnautica I tend to mash the roll keys (usually when I run into a wall next to the hole) till I remember it doesn't have that function lol.
That said while cool and add a bit to the game it doesn't really need it (would have to add it to the characters movements as well).
...the Cyclops don't need roll control, why the hell would you even think that. (this is not a question, only in hell you would think that)
What it would gain is a better view of the seafloor not obstructed by the huge control system and limited STRAFE capability, among a few other things actually... I can't say I like the way they handle full speed, sound emission an beacons.
But that's another story.

Seamoth is used alot in caves and other tight spots
