idea to make food and water items useful again in Freedom

so i've been playing in freedom mode (tried survival, but was just a bit too much to track for a first time player of the game), and it bothers me that i still get the bottled waters and nutrient blocks when i start and from the vacupack boxes.. i haven't built a vending machine or coffee dispenser yet (why bother?), but i suspect those would dispense items i can't actually use as well. it seems really odd that this game mode would fill up your inventory like that with useless items like that.
rather than remove those things in freedom though, i'd suggest keeping them as consumable, just instead of them effecting the water and hunger like in survival, have them work as a healing item, just not as good of one as the medkits. you could even scale the healing amount by type, so that medkits remain the best option, but the nutrient blocks would be better than the snackfood, for example.
