2 Gorges?

I know, I know, seems retarted, but belive it or not yesterday, i played a game with another gorg, and we whooped up! buildings went up twice as fast, one person built d for the hive while the other saved, it was amazing!

Also 2 gorgs can heal spray each other while they are hurting that pesky mairine! And come on, heal spray kills are almost as funny as parasite kills.

I was really shocked it worked out that well, granted we did have some good guys on our team, and the rines were only mediocre but 2 gorges healing a fade has to be a scary sight

My opinion is that it is not a good idea at start that there is two gorges and they are in same place.

I think one gorge at start (if there are 6 players on your team or more) and when he has finished first res tower, then second gorge. One gorge saves to hive and another one builds more res towers and some defence.

Interesting, i know two gorges can be very useful. At the start me and another person went gorge on eclipse. I went to maintance, him to command. Our skulks kept them off our arses whilst we got our res points up.

Then at the point i got my hive up his went up too...suddenly onos appeared.

I usually like to have 1 Gorge per about 5 players. On a team of 9, a 2nd Gorge isn't bad after at least a 2nd res Chamber has been put up.(you start with one already up) The 2nd Gorge has his use if he works with the first one on not duplicating efforts, and goes around building more res chambers.

Then while the 1st is saving for hive 2, the 2nd Gorge can start Building defenses at the 1st hive. This way while the 2nd hive is charging up, the 1st Gorge can build defenses there without the marines knocking out 1st hive while Gorge is busy.

Once the skulks on the team reach max resources, having more than one gorge is USELESS. Wow, you now have two guys that can spend your team's resources, when one could spend them just as effectively.

When you hit 33 res i go gorge, slap up a res point and a off tower if i get enough res in the time it takes the res point to go up and go back to skulk.

The whole "I'm gonna gorge just to put up one RT" thing is a waste, because by the time you get that particular RT up, you will have sucked up so many resources that the RT will have to be around for a few minutes at least before the team breaks even. But two gorges is often a very good idea(that is, of course, unless you have a very angry/ignorant team with admin_vote_kick priviledges). If you have a good bunch of skulks, they can split up, both building at different hives, but if your skulks suck, or are n00bs, then it is essential for the two gorges to stick together and fortify/save at one single hive location. This way by the time you start the second hive, your gorges can move to where they are needed, either at the other hive, or on the front lines if neccesarry, and not need to worry about an undefended hive going up, as they should have already put up a rather substantial defense system around it.

Going gorge to drop a RT is almost always a bad idea. Tossing down one OC is a complete waste, every time, as a lone marine can clean it out without even being hurt.

I like having two gorges after about 4-5 minutes into the game.
I like to go res hunting and building, while the other saves and build a little and gets res close by if its not taking by me already.

    Well that is interesting too...
Usually marines at least try to capture one hive and if i get your reply right you mean that you had eclipse your first hive and then you went to main and another gorge to computer.

You didn't build any res tower or def chambers? I mean in ns_eclipse there are long hallways and skulk without carapace is REALLY easy to kill by marine. When game start i usually use pistol, because killing skulks is pretty easy, but with carapace....well....eh....no pistol anymore

And also if you just start to save money for hive and then you build that hive, ok there are few problems after that:

    1. No res towers money increase very slow ---> no money for fades
    2. No money for building any defence at that hive ---> marines can take it down

Two gorges seems to be the standard on the servers I play on (mostly 8 vs 8). Typically one gorge will focus on getting resource towers and the other will focus on the hive.

I hope you're not suggesting that two gorges is a good idea so that they can stick together to make hunting marines easier :/
