Why can't I build this?

I also reported this via F8 in game, but maybe forum will know...

    If I remember correctly, scanner rooms don't like being over platforms, even though they have plenty of space. Will it let you build on the end at the edge of the platform( right side of second picture)?

    yes I was able to build it there, but this is something that should be fixed or explained with some tooltips, because I was confused by similar situations a lot in original Subnautica!
