Ladders

<div class="IPBDescription">hard to get up</div> Is it just me or are some of the ladders in ns_caged almost impossible to get up as a skulk? Like the one leading to generator and the ones in ventalation. Is this just me or is it the map? It is like there is no grip on some parts of the ladder. If it is the map I think it should be fixed, right?

The Great Viaduct I have had problems with. No other ladders in ns_caged seem to be a bug for me.

all you need to do is jump onto the ladders. this happens sometimes, but you jsut jump up to the ladder and you will be fine.

What?! I always regarded the ladders in HL and any mods that use the HL engine to be a higher standard than the rest. Many times I have played Quake 2 and 3, and the ladders are a pain in the **** on them. Slipping around whilst climbing up, often falling down. I always thought the ladders in Half-Life were very easy to use. (except for these skulks... but they can climb walls anyway).

I think it's a bug in NS, rather than a map bug. There are ladders in other levels, where you simply walk through them as a skulk. Just use a wall instead.

its probably a map bug. the creator may not have pulled down the aaa trigger for func ladder all the way to the ground, so you have to jump on on to it. ladders are done fine in hl, i mean seirously the game came out nearly 5 years ago. the ladders in bf1942 make you go into a different mode and slide down them step by step. its more realistic, but then again it is years newer.

Ladder code has been completely disabled on skulks and lerks. If you pass through it, that's why. If you bounce off, there's a clip brush. If you can climb it and not shoot through it, it's an invisible func_wall.

Trust me, there's no way to win.

I usually make ladders 8 thick. I have found that it is quite common thickness.
