Goto your config.cfg located in your NS dir. Open it in Notepad and look for the line....

    bind "MOUSE2" "+foward"

delete it and paste in its place...

    bind "MOUSE2" "+popupmenu"

    then save.

Or you could just use the HL/NS browser key config. Open up HL. Left click on Custom Games, left click on NS, left click Activate, left click Done, left click Configuration and tinker with your key binds in there.

There is alos a nifty little program called NS ToolBox that will do a lot of the tedious stuff for you. Try searching for it on the forums. You might find it. I did a search on the forums myself but for some reason I couldnt find it. =(

but as you probably dont want to change the way you play FPS games, and want to keep right click as fwd, you should bind MOUSE3 or a keyboard key to the popup menu. MOUSE3 would also be the wheel-button if you have a mouse with a scrolly wheel.

With right click as forward, left click as fire primary, the third mouse button as your pop-up menu, and mouselook on you can play almost an entire round using only the mouse. Yes, for mobility and functionality you will require the keyboard, but 90% of what you do is now on the mouse.

combined with the fact that with MOUSE2 on forward i can eat, drink, sneeze or scratch my **** while still being able to run, aim and shoot, which most people will agree are the three most important things to be able to do in an fps.

I use an odd config too. Mouse = forward, mouse2 = back, s = attack, w = attack2, a and d are strafe. I don't bind or use mouse3 because I don't always have a wheelmouse to use. One advantage to this setup is that attacking does not cause the mouse to jolt if I'm firing fast on semi auto. I just wish that I had a 5 button mouse, I'd be all set.

Wow. I experimented with movement systems back when I first played HLDM. Right Click mouse forward rocks until you attempt to fly as a lerk. Oi.

You can't strafe or move backwards using only the mouse though. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    +popupmenu

    From a fellow mouse2 = forwarder.

I used mouse2 (now mouse3 since I have it) as forward since my doom days. Backwards is the left alt button <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    bind mouse2 +popupmenu
    bind mouse3 +forward

If you want to, you can make a certain key your popup menu button instead of the mouse button. Its just a little less intuitive.
