How long is a "tick"? In other words, how ofter do resources come in?

I thought it was once every two seconds, so a marine team with two resource collectors and six players would get four resources per tick ( ( 2 collectors ) * ( 2 resources per tick ) ). Divided by two that gives two resources per second?

Also, how exactly does alien res collection work? On a team of six, how are the res from two towers distributed? I heard three times as much goes to gorges. (+ overflow, I know) Is it two res per tower per tick? same a marines?

    Eh... sometimes in some servers there comes a bigger smoke to the res node. If you put res tower on it then there comes 2 res per tick in one tower.... iam not sure <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    a tick is usually 1 second, but in this game, i don't believe it follows the same

    the resources are given (by that equation) that many resources every minute...
    I forget off hand.. but it comes out to like so many resources per like 6 seconds more or less

    Aliens have individual resources, and alien resource towers give resources to all alien players, no matter who built them. All aliens get resources at the same rate with one exception: Gorges get three times the resources as regular alien players (so they can create structures that the whole team benefits from). For this reason, it's important not to have too many Gorges on your team<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    So formula for that would be
    ResourcesGotten = ResourcesTapped / (AmountofPlayers + AmountofGorges*2)

    A "tick" is 6 seconds. So a Res tower will extract 10 Res per minute. Extraction is not synchronous, so if you have 4 Res towers, you're not getting 4 rp every 6 sec. Each tower has its own tick, which strats when the tower becomes active. That's why you'll see Res coming in at weird intervals.

    The larger the teams, the more resources you get (i.e. when you see a +2 or +3 above an extractor). Read this post for an in depth overview of the current resource structure.

    <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=5&t=18081' target='_blank'>http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/in...=ST&f=5&t=18081</a>

    Alien resources are collected, and doled out by the hive. Each person on the team gets a share, while Gorges get an extra one. Overly simplified: 6 players=> 5 skulks + 1 gorge => hive generates 7 shares => each skulk gets one, and the gorge gets 2.
    If a skulk(s) is "full" the hive gives its share to the gorge; that's why gorges get so many res in the late game, when most aliens are "full", as they are getting all of the unclaimed shares. Consequently, if most skulks save their rp until full, the gorge will see a hughe increase in rp rate.

    Disclaimer: this may not apply to v1.04x, or servers running various admin mods.

    A tick is 5-6 seconds depending on server lag, etc.

    The formal you are looking for is <!--c1--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->team_resources_gained=(num_players * .23 * num_resource_towers) * (num_enemy_players/num_own_players);<!--c2--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->

    not <!--c1--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->ResourcesGotten = ResourcesTapped / (AmountofPlayers + AmountofGorges*2) <!--c2--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->

    Nice Try though. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I don't think he was coding, I think he was just doing math with words as variables.

    I always wondered about the massive resource gains at the end of the game. I've placed a hive before and gained all 80 resources back in ONE tick. True, we were dominating the map, but we didn't have 80 res towers.

    Other players had their resources bar full. The excess goes to any one who doen's have a full bar.

    Hey people, you guys forget the standard flow of resources. I thinkthatevery team gets like 1 free resource per 10 seconds, even without a single rt.

    Yes you have to factor in the free res. I have noticed that as marine when the aliens destroy the spawn and all rts then you still get resources, painfully slow, but you get them.

    afaik the time of a "tick" can also be change by the mapper, so a tick in map A may be different from a tick in map B. althogh i don´t think this has been used yet.
