anybody else addicted to it yet? Having played all the SimCity games except 4000 (which I didn't even know existed till recently) and SimTower, I'd have to say this is definately the best one. Its the only one where I've had a good sized city w/ tall buildings too! Hooray!
Those of you having trouble w/ your town I *HIGHLY* suggest you read this Tips & Tricks guide on SimCity4's official website. My town was crap till I found out some really cool stuff here.
PS Giant robots from outer space = win.

*goes to find a SNES to hug*
I gotta check my cash flow and buy this game. Either that or sell another relative.
Anyone in need or a kidney?
I couldn't see anything.
Maybe there's no multi-pplayer but there IS alot of features:
Play God
Sculpt mountains, gouge valleys, and seed forests to lay the groundwork for your creation.
Drop a disaster anywhere in your city--set buildings ablaze, pelt your metropolis with meteors, unleash a twister, or wreak havoc with a volcano.
Populate your terrain with animals that graze and roam … and sometimes stampede into your city!
Play Mayor
Create, build and run the most realistic city you can imagine.
Connect your metropolis with other cities you've created to form a massive region of SimCities, each sharing and competing for resources.
Deploy police cruisers and fire trucks to the scene--you’re up close and part of the action as they deal with fires, striking mobs, crime, and more.
Play With Your Sims
Place your Sims in your city--they'll give you valuable feedback.
Follow your Sims to work and home.
Experience life in the big city, from mellow traffic to commuter hell, noontime crowds to nighttime calm.
Such a yummy game.
I've always been a big Sim fan (I even played SimIsle for quite awhile) and this is easily one of the best ones yet. Nothing beats Simcity 2000 though, but this gets awful close.
I'm seriously considering buying this game but a magazine says
its rather demanding the old Processor and vid card.
I have:
AMD Durom 900mhz
Geforce 4 mx 440
640 Meg of ram
Direct-X 8.1
70 gig of hard-drive space free :-D
Once you get a good sized city, the thing starts lagging. bad. unacceptibly bad. still playable, but you're just gonna have to be waiting a bit. I suppose its a bit more forgivable because due to the nature of the game its not as critical as when an FPS drops to 5fps, but still. Hopefully a patch will fix this. But you don't have to worry about that till your city gets somewhat largish.
1.4ghz amd
512MB PC2100 DDR RAM
160GB w/ 8mb cache of lurv
GF4 Ti4400
I also run in absolute max detail and at 1024x768 res.
otherwise the only sim games i've played is the REALLY old ones - simant, simfarm and simcity #1.
