    I highly suggest his not be downloaded until it is done properly.

    You cannot use this succesfully in NS - This was already converted to HL last year This is the very same model as I have. it has the default HL gordon skeleton attached and uses all the default HL animations it needs to be decompiled and recompiled properly to make use of the NS animations or else, in game when a person using it tries a particular action the model won't execute the animation that the other players see

    this was not a convert to NS this is just the same one I have had for a year. but I have V_models for the weapons he uses.

    Aside from this it needs Pred Crosshairs ( too bad it can't have the lazer thingy like the Standard HL model has for the RPG), it needs V models for his blades and stuff versus using the knife if he was Marine. I don't even know what model it is set to replace til' download finishes but it coudl only be a Fade and he needs his Dreds animated for every HL animation to be really cool and or needs to have no V model for the grenade launcher and I dunno about hive sight and what not all in all way cool just some thoughts i had on it's usage

    If the model was simply the Sven coop model, completely unaltered, then yes, it would not work in Natural Selection. However, the very fact that I put "conversion" in the title should give you a clue. I downloaded it from the Sven coop forum, decompiled it, and reassigned the animations to the correct NS ones. The screenshot is it working in NS, viewed in spectator mode.

    It works just as good as it does in Sven coop. I did not reanimate, remodel, etc etc, I "converted". Which, is what was asked for earlier today, and I said I would do so.

    Before you bring out posts like that, at least take the time to look at the file.

    And, RoadMaster, the person who converted the model from AvP2 -has- been credited in the accompanying readme.

    The model could be done for the Marine team I guess, but as I play Aliens mostly, I thought I would make it a Fade.

    I had read the readme, which is why I said did you ASK the creator of the original model. There is a difference between giving credit and getting actual permission. What does the original model's readme say about redistribution and conversions? I know all of my readmes when I make models say that the models should not be edited without my permission, and I usually advise towards e-mailing me if someone wants to redistribute it on their own site.

    (and no I am not trying to rip into you or anything.... I just see a lot of these conversions going around without signs of asking original authors, and it always tends to irk me a bit. Heck conversions in general tend to bug me, but not much I can do about that <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> )

    The creator of the original model, a modeller who worked on the Alien versus Predator 2 game, has not been asked by me for permission, no. Whether he/she was asked permission by the person who converted it to Halflife originally, I don't know either.

    It's just something I know how to do, conversions, and if it helps a couple of people, then thats alright. There seemed to be a want for it, so thats why I converted the model, not for financial gain or something *chuckles*

    But, if this is "wrong", then I guess most, if not all, of the AvP2 models converted to NS are also "wrong", along with whole sites like models.firearmsmod.com which I did some work for.     In avp2 preditor and aliens fight aginst each other so i think its out of place, but good conversion u have done something someone requested

    oh sorry rich that was my bad really. I didn't know that the model from Sven was originally from AVP2 anyway. I have nothing against not asking big game companies permission, it's just the little people who get their hard work clipped away by others that I get annoyed with.     To make it a marine model, now that would take a considerable amount of fiddling. I did this when I had an hour or so to spare, but I don't really have lots of spare time at the moment. I'll look into it, and see if I have the skills to do it, but it may be that someone else has to do that.

    At present though, my main priority is converting and reskinning the Wristblades weapon model for the Fade claws. Personally I still much prefer the Alien model and Alien claws, but someone might find a use for this <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    tnx Rich! really appriciate u doin this.

    and to those who thinks preds can be used as marines think about this then, first im not saying pred fits together with the alien custom models either. they fit the wepaons 100%.

    the claws, shouldercannon, leap. all things a pred can have.and NOT to forget the "hive sight" and "cloaking"

    and how would u fit in light machine guns, pistols, heavy machine guns, welder, commander role, with a pred?

    if you made a new model without any armmour and mask that could be used as the reg. soldier
    and the the ha could be a pred. with all teh armour onn.


    jetpacks could just have some predator-ish jet thing.

    2 werds : Sweet A** This is a nice conversion rich does it have the claw move for slash move as fade? if its possible coudn't the animation for the rpg used as a new blink model since he is the predator with all his high tech goodness would that be cool?
    *click beep beep click* close flap and he is in a new location instead of the swipe he flips out that bad boi??

    Not for fade, the thing evolves from a skulk. Thats wrong. It would look sweet anyways with the marines, just would look cool.
