Jet Pack Help Pls

<div class="IPBDescription">I cant get it to work...</div> I press and hold space......doesnt work...i tried it for like an hour..wtf am i doin wrong pls?

In console, type net_graph 1 to check out your framerate. Its in the top left corner of the little box that pops up. If the number is really low, that could be your problem, because framerate (at least for now) effects jetpack performance. I know I had alot of trouble staying aloft before I upgraded my comp.

If you aren't getting anything at all, no sound, no jet trail - make sure your space bar is bound to jump.

ya, you probably don't have your spacebar bound to jump. Alot of people are in the habit of explaining stuff by the default key, not realizing that many other people change thier keys (like me). For example in the new patch you have to press your "use" key to go through a phase. When clueless players ask why they can't phase, someone will say "just hit "E". I don't know about everyone else but my use key is bound to KP_LEFTARROW.

If you would like to have space be your jump button (also the jetpack button) then bring down your console (usually set to the "~" key) and type the following:

bind space +jump

then hit enter

Well my use key is "mouse2". If there would be a secondary fire, then i would use mouse2 for it.

My jump key is spacebar, i do jump when i try to use the jetpack, other people say let the thing charge up, i do for like 5 mins, still nothin...my framerate isnt low, im on a brand new gateway p4 GF 2....

You sure you have the jetpack? Do you see a little blue vertical bar near the right side of the screen? Thats your jetpack fuel. You know, marines aren't spawned with jetpacks, they have to tech up to them.

I am running out of ideas for what your problem could be.

I think they dont get it that you get your jetpack from the commander, after he has teched it up. You have to pick up a jetpack, like you pick up a hmg...

HA HA HA that was pretty funny. All this indepth discussion of who uses what key for which command and the dude didnt even have a jetpack. has anyone else noticed that at 100 fps u can hold down the jump key and you will NEVER run out gas?

Bar will empty, but u will keep floating in air!
