    Note: The branches at the bottom of the egg stick out far too much, and might give away the possition of hiding skulk ready to transform.
    Just a friendly not, great model, and skin, but it's asking for trouble

    Agreeing with the fact that the original had tentacles that were way to big ( I did not make the model, my partner did) I played with it a bit and curled and added blah blah ( I cannot 3d for crap Thanks for the startup and the help H3llbound)

    Now this version here complies pretty well with the current floorspace that the current gestate takes up

    thanks for the comments! I appreciate the feedback- this is pretty much directed to panaka and is no way intended to be a flame or meant to offend anyone though. however this is not an uneducated opinion post; this is a help wanted - Animator needed post ( maybe in the wrong spot)
    just like the creator of the mod I did the model the way I wanted. If I kept having to change everything according to everyon it may never get released blah blah blah

    Hey Panaka... they are already reduced curled in and smaller than the ones from the first pic. if this was a real egg they would be even longer at some point. Currently they take up no more floorspace than that of your current gestate model.

    let me ask you... When you run down the hall and you see this, are you going to pull some g*y fashion critic move and say " Oh no no no....My Oh my!, those are much to long, we can't have that, tsk tsk."

    - or are you going to be a man and shoot the sh** out of the Fu**er!

    You are not judging this to be sculpture to appear in your foyer mate. it' s for a video game....hello. if you are on my marine team and I catch you just staring at that and judging the length of the tentacles I am gonna shoot you myself.

    wait till it has in game shots before you judge it like that. and then maybe say something like " wow... you did that work for the community. For nothing in return but our lousy comments wow nice work".

    Regardless, this is what it looks like now. We need an animator.

    yeah I'm sorry Panaka I dunno mate I've been in the HL community doing custom work for around 4 years now and I still get a little whacked when I get responses that are not in favor of the work/time spent on it ( not whether or not you like it)

    you are entitled but I will say this... when was the last time you watched any of the ALIEN franchise films?
    gotta take a closer look and do a bit of research too like we did.

    When layed, the egg has no tentacles at all. As it gestates they grow longer, and when it starts receiving signals they grow a bit longer, much like what you see here. In large egg chambers you may see thousands of eggs and the floor would be covered with these tentacle things.

    I just did my best approximation of what I thought would be close to actual, seeing that these are gestates I decided to make them tentacles a little longer as if they were gathering resources as well as holding ground.

    but the original models were way to long and would have clipped through the map revealing hiding spots to gestate.

    Ssorry if I was harsh. I usually am this way when I enter a new community. I'm sorry I'll try to be less constrictive in my rectoral state of being. hehe

    this egg is not being designed to blend with default hive textures. it is being done for ALIEN enthusiasts that like to customize NS to be like ALIEN ( not AVP) This is the egg skin that I created from scratch. I am not interested in ripping skins from AVP when it concerns work that E&C does from the ground up. this is an original model and an original skin.

    you want an egg from avp go make one.

    E&C plans to release the ALIEN IMMERSION pack 2 files - which will include the completely redone map textures with GiGERLIKE / alienesque HIVE creep (black metallic biomech creep) not the green. only default map so far with issues is Eclipse.

    Splash and console screens
    The Hive Queen ( if he ever finishes it) with new hive sounds

    Our Pick of the best looking AVP ported models for each alien class

    the AVP soundpack V1

    a nice Colonial Marine with jetpack, there is one we like out ther but it got all fuxored at the legs by the animator we may still use it though it has all the right gear

    ANY and all ALIEN weapons available that we deem the best quality

    the installers will allow you to choose what you want out of them and leave the rest alone.

    Jim... think of this as the current gestate model just upright. Similar anims to the gestate model 2 anims for flinching - slight extension like bulging quivers when hit on the egg and the tentacles. 2 gestations- a little movement when gestating( like you are wriggling inside to get out) and a fast gestate. 1 deploymentanim. - it would have the tentacles move outward from tightly tucked to current pick location. and possibly a tip over and retracting or twitching tentacle anim for the death.

    anyone out there interested in doing this? the model was done with 3dStudio Max

    What kind of animation do you want for it?
    I mean.. it only has an "idle" one.

    The model would port itself nicely to having a "hatch" animation with the top opening, but NS doesnt have that. So the only thing you could do, is have the idle animationg kinda make the sides of the egg expand and contract, something REALLY easy to animate.

    but take a look at the gesate now in hlmv and look at it's animations and then really give me a no SH*t ETA

    I'd like to see a different "hatch" animation for every alien level. Like see the pouch expand to fit the whole area an Onos would or expand vertically all the way to a Fade's height.
    But just seeing an onos get ouf of a 1 foot high pink bag sure is... wel.. scary.

    that would be sweet Panther but I am afraid you are talking about recoding elements of the mod for that.

    every model has a similar set of animations in this game some get used by skulk while another get used by a marine. the capabilities are there but the anims are not ,neither are the calls to activate them in certain instances. These calls are coded into the mod itself.

    for instance I currently use Mercatorns black alien runner reskinned with the fleshy looking skin as Skulk. For Gorge I use the actual Black MErc runner. it still runs, it still walks and it still does a few other anims. but some alien abilities it does not do the same. It actually does nothing. I am never ( hopefully ) gonna be that close to a Gorge and be standing still just to watch his belly gurgle when he spits up babblers I will be RUNNING !!! and RELOADIN'!

    So sadly you cannot just make up anims that the game won't call to execute. such is the case of individual spawn anims for each class of alien gestation.

    it woudl be cool though
