<div class="IPBDescription">Alliance</div>first off, who loves x-com? me for one... and I was just asking to see if anyone has followed it and knew anything other than that it is dead with the possibilty of being revived?

I love XCom. As far as I know it's dead. I did play an XCom flight simulator of sorts that I've never seen in America once though.

the x-com flight sim is very old news, and it sucked <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('> all the ones that have come out are ufo defense (enemy unknown in the UK), Terror from the Deep, Interceptor (the flight sim), Apocolypse, and enforcer. two were in the works when infrogrames bought hasbro games which owned x-com lisnence. since then they suspended work on alliance to work on enforcer (because the lead coder left) then they released enforcer, restarted work on alliance then put it on hold again and as of yet they have not annouced wether or not it will be scrapped or if it will continue developement but some people have hinted towards it being scrapped (been on hold over a year) but other things hint that it will continue (infrogrames shut down both x-com based HL mods) nnow I was just asking if anyone knew any more than I did

X-com Ownz me...

the closest thing in development right now is UFO Aftermath, not based entirely on the X-com series, it is apparently the brainchild of the classic by microprose... if you're looking for some multiplayer turn based startegy, try Laser Squad Nemesis, it's fairly close to x-com...

It's funny, I only ever really liked the original one. Terror from the deep and such just never appealed to me. Then again, X-COM's intro was the best.

I love terror from the deep and ufo enemy unknozn, yeah teh flightsim sucked, then again it was a different kind of X-com game. I never heard of enforcer and aliience tho, hmm they released another game a few years ago, X-com apocalypse or something?

X-com is in my opinion one of the best series ever made. And the new one .. aftermath ? looks really nice. hope it turns out as good as it looks <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

enforcer is a third person x-com that came out about a year ago, your a robot fighting hordes of snakemen and stuff it's not very x-comish

Terror from the deep and Apocalypse were a bit poor. The original Xcom, that's true gold.

I just remembered how HARD it was to capture a Sectoid Commander in Superhuman level.

It was really cool researching all the stuff, the turn-based rounds... I've played UFO and Terror. According to PC Format Enforcer is not good at all.

yeah... if you play enforcer for more than about half an hour, it gives you a headache it's so fast paced... the whole thing's been downhill since tftd imho...

that was when it was "Dreamland Chronicles; Freedom Ridge" then it was put on hold, then re-started under the name "UFO: Aftermath" (see my link a few posts before this one...)
