Yes, the wait is over. You can stop camping the forums and go to sleep! For I've put all of the weapon statistics up at the creatively-named <a href='http://www.geocities.com/kitsune/104stats.htm' target='_blank'>http://www.geocities.com/kitsune/104stats.htm</a>. So now y'all get to see the impact of the new carapace system. The 1.03 and 1.04e pages are both still up, at ns_stats.htm and 104estats.htm, respectively, in case you want to compare.

    I'm not exactly sure how to read this table. Each weapon has 2 tables; the first one describes (?) and the second one describes how many shots it takes to kill an alien with different levels of carapace.

    So it takes 17 HMG shots to kill a fade?! <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo--> I didn't know that. No wonder everyone takes Carapace.

    Fades tend to demoralize any Marine equipped with less than an HMG, GL, and Heavy Armor.

    Kinda the opposite for me...if I see a fade I automatically start firing like crazy, and when my LMG (or whatever I have) has emptied one magazine, I switch to my handgun, and once that is gone, knife time...obviously if I have a welder I can't do the handgun bit so I just go straight to that.

    Rarely do I reload the weapons, because you just don't have enough time to usually, especially the HMG - that thing has sickly long reload time.

    I need something that will play the sound file of the bugle charge whenever I see a fade and rush him <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> That would = win!

    Windel, the first chart for each weapon is displaying the amount of damage it does with one shot to health/armor. Since higher carapace levels negate some damage and assign more damage to the armor than health, it results in very different numbers.

    Comical thing is HA/HMG marines are acctually worse for killing fades as they have no ability to chase it down.

    I ran into that just the other night, in fact. An Onos was scooting away from a fight with a couple of heavies, left them in the dust in no time flat. It was me, running after him in light armor and hosing that huge butt with LMG rounds that took him down. I took some small personal satisfaction in that.

    Whats the approx stats for Health spray damage from gorge?
    And the damage of the welder vs alien structures? Like 8.4 seconds to take down a node, etc.

    Also, yes, Fades do demoralize, and I ran straight at one with all I had, ran out of ammo, and used my knife. Surprisingly about stab #4 he went down. Marine behind me watching couldnt stop laughing. Why he still insisted on acid rockets at point blank, we'll never know.

    Good job as usual.

    I have a suggestion. Would it be possible for you to include structures? It would be tremendously interesting and helpful to know just how many LMG or siege shots it takes to nail hives, OCs and such, though I can see how the healing factor could be problematic with such calculations. Knowing how many bites it takes to kill a sentry or a TF would be kind of neat too.

    BTW, I thought direct grenade damage was back to 200 in 1.04?

    Grenade damage is still 90, I lobbed one at my roomie just for fun while we were checking out 1.04's cloak, and his Gorge took 90 points from the hit.

    As for structures, I did some quick poking at them tonight and got the following health numbers. I had to do some guessing, rounding to the nearest round number, since 75-damage Skulk bites don't give very precise results.

    Observatory 1000
    Prototype Lab 2000
    Phase Gate 2000
    Arms Lab 2200
    Armory 2350
    Turret Factory 2950
    Command Chair 9750

    Defense Chamber 700
    Movement Chamber 700
    Sensory Chamber 2200 (yes, 2200)
    Resource Tower 3000
    Hive 6000 (best guess, 338 HMG shots killed it, but it got a lot of healing done in the time it took)

    Now 'bout the stats;

    Kitsune: Good work again. Only one thing; i'm not sure about the ammo/mouvement issue. I never noticed it but o well maybe it's just me. Maybe we can ask the devs about this.

    One should note that HAs are meant for <i>offense</i>. You don't make a tank hunt after a Ferrari either.

    See if you can do it with "legitimate" cheats, such as setting up an admin mod server and admin_godmode ing yourself.

    I can imagine some of the clannies from TFC creating a rule that would prevent anyone chasing the onos...
