To All The Bad Commanders I Have Played With

Please die. No really.

I don't know what kind of special chromosomatic monstrosity it takes to create such bad commanders, but they seem to be multiplying. When the mod first came out I can understand that there was a learning period. But now, how many months later? The same problems are going on and no progress is being made. Almost every game I play in, they:

A) Don't communicate
B) Hoarde resources
C) Get mad at their team when they manage to stockpile 200 res (don't spend, interest!) and are still losing.

I tried being a commander once and I quickly realized I couldn't handle the stress. After about an hour I start to sweat and smell bad, so I don't do it. It's very simple logic for me. For others it seems to be one of those "my car is nice so my c*ck is big" things. Having your name at the top of everyone's screen doesn't mean di*k. That's right, di*k. Especially when you lose the game for your team.

Granted, there are good commanders. Great commanders. Commanders who bring a smile to my face when they manage to pull a terrible team into a solid win. Unfortunately I don't get to play with them and chances are neither do you. The funny thing is, good commanders don't rub off on bad commanders. I've seen one guy beat back a whorde of aliens only to give his chair to a teammate the next game and have him make EVERY. WRONG. DECISION. POSSIBLE...EVER. They can play for the good commander, see FIRST HAND how he does things and then completely, irrevocably ignore the good ideas. There must be some way for these guys to LEARN. When you get beat over and over again because you're not doing things right the natural human impulse is to adapt, recognize and reduce faults; improve and think things through next time. The guys who I am talking about seem to lack that ability. They're like a dumb dog who will bump its head against a door to try to open it and keep bumping until they fall over unconcious. HEY GUYS: IT DOESN'T WORK. STOP TRYING.

Its just the twich fps players who've had every strat on a plate for them since they started playing games...

Or who think they're good at c&c type games cos they saved after every kill and re-loaded when people die (thus making the random number generator do the work)

They'll learn, just don't hold ya breath.

It IS a stressful job that requires a lot of patience and skill, but there are by the same token commanders who don't seem to learn. They're not as bad as the ones who hop in, recycle the res point, then spawn 50 health packs at spawn. Remember that there are a lot of newcomers to the NS community, not everyone knows instantly what to do, and being placed in a position of power over the whole team can be confusing. By far the bigger problem i thik is the team asking for impossible things; so often do I see a poor commander wiith 20 res trying desperatly to hold a hive being spammed by three or four marines at spawn asking for hmgs and ha. Some are bad, yes. But most do learn. Give them a chance, have some fun, and see how they go the next game.

A number of issues with being a commander is Marines...a commander is only as good as his Marines. It helps to have veteran troopers who can lead squads, respond to commands and look after noobs. Marines must all remember that whatever you need you must always tell the commander what it is, and where it is you need it, or we can't do to much. Keep the voice comm clear, use it when needed not for fun. For commanders however there is a whole other section. Some things are just good leadership, others are knowing what to spend money on...some things are just common sense. in the end...some Marines are good commanders...others are not. I would expect them to know the difference however the golden rule is always...Peoplz is stupid. So it goes, my advice...boot poor commanders as soon as possible...not worth putting up with them.

I tend to play in {H2O} -7...or 4....it has 30 people and shouldn't be to hard to find. Look me up if you want a good commander, it's usually full so you may need to wait. Good luck

I would like to thank LEGO (commander in a game), for winning for us marines 5 times in a row. And we were all noobs back then, bet it was a member of the dev team, and anyways. RUSH RRUSH RUSH!!!!

C0bra, I understand what you mean, but the board is no place for attacks on anyone, be they llama, noob, or someone trying to command.
