Malice V_models: End Progress

<div class="IPBDescription">Take it if you want it.</div> I've not been in to this sort of thing enough lately to warrant just sitting on it forever. I know good people want these, so I'm giving the whole pack away. It's not complete, by far. Only the knife is anywhere near being complete, I suppose, but you'll need to do something with the control panel and cage still. <a href='http://d12dod.homestead.com/files/mod_malice_v_models.zip' target='_blank'>This</a> contains all the work I've done and received on this project so far. Thanks go out to Chris Linux for the sounds he mixed, and to everybody who did any work to skin the control panel [interface, console, whatever].

I forgot to include the ReadMe for the knife I took for its animations in the ZIP file before uploading it, so I attached it below. If you use those animations, you'll need to include this ReadMe.

Credits will need to be given to the AvP2 team for the hand and just about everything else unless otherwise specified, the guy who made or reskinned that black minigun I used the barrels from, the NS team for part of the left arm model [the armoured part] and the guy who made the Hades commando, whose skin I reskinned the armoured part of the NS HA arm. I removed the NS HA hand, though, and put the AvP2 hand, instead, reskinned to have the tip of his index finger bare to reflect my reskin of the Hades commando hands. If you want something different, be my guest. I used the AvP2 knife, but recoloured the blade slightly so it's not pukish green.

Of course, you can just do your own V_model pack for the MALICE from scratch if you don't like my approach.

I know some people made skins for the console that aren't included in this package. I've been losing interest for so long that I wasn't keeping track, so I suggest that they all be accounted for before this stuff is released. Post them here, again, to keep anyone who takes up this project aware of what you did.

    It's not because I'm mad or anything. I just realize I'm not going to have the energy to release it any time soon, so the quickest way for them to be completed is for someone else to do it instead.

    Kahler, this saddens me, because i know that you would have done a very good job at it, it gives me hope that it might be released soon, and humillity because i know that i want to try to do this, and it also envokes me with fear for my life.......should i try it, should i give it a try, what if i fail miserably, do i have enough times in my shcedule? will a do a goodenough job to be proud of? should i just not try and goober myself each time i load up the game?....

    anyway, i'ma go now because i know i need to go, and well, i'm saddened even more that Kahler won't be finishing it, maybe you should continue trying anyway, and release (later) YOUR final version, while we can have somone else's to keep us happy until then?

    I -strongly- suggest -anyone- at least -try-. At least just one model. Then, everyone who's tried, can pool it together and make one pack out of it. Of course, if I'm not completely satisfied with the results, I'll be making whatever changes to them I feel compelled to make, in the end, but this is a great oportunity to learn all sorts of aspects deal with HL customization. Skinning, modelling, mesdhing, bone assignments, animation... If someone wants to remake the shotgun, torch, et cetera attachments, or not use the minigun bits I used, hey, it's a perfect opportunity to show what you can or can't do. And if you can't do something, it's an opportunity to at least figure out what it is you can't do and find specific answers for it, rather than saying, "Um... I wanna learn to model. How can I start?"

    This would be a great collaborative project.

    And again we see that Wolf Kahler cannot get anything decent done and finished. Hey maybe you should stop trying if you really are too "busy" to finish anything?

    I think my animating skills are okay though. In the one I have above, it has a reload animation where the belt feed slides out, then is replaced again through some for of telekinesis. The cage and arm also shake a little when you shoot. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
    Just need someone to ask me to make all these and release them, otherwise no point working on it to begin with.

    Modelled, skinned and animated.
    Not exactly quality. That's supposed to be a .50 cal barrel sticking out, but most of it is hidden from view. Pout.

    That's funny... The HUD is partially behind the cage... Maybe removing the cage isn't such a bad idea.
