This is the line I use

<!--c1--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->hlds.exe -game ns +map ns_tanith _nopix +maxplayers 18<!--c2--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->

After about 20seconds of it going through packfile? it says

<!--c1--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->No masters parsed from woncomm.lst
Using default master<!--c2--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->

I have no way of testing this till i go the the next LAN. Is it supposed to say that? And if not what am I doing wrong??

    No clue. Most prople who try to make their own servers fail. The best way is to have a direct connection, with no firewalls, then take a brand new installtion, add that code to it, and just to it using the short cut. Thou I never had a problem with that so I havve no clue <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->.

    you aren't doing anything wrong that i see. No, its not suppose to say that really. do you have that file? how old is your HLDS? is it version 4.1.1.0 (win32) ?

    looks like a networking issue... are you trying to set up a dedicated LAN server or one available over the net? when hlds starts up, it communicates with the master servers (which adds it to their list) with the addresses provided in the woncomm.lst file. sounds like the DNS is not working on that box, altho it doesnt seem to prevent it from starting up

    more info would be helpful... otherwise, good luck

    You probably just mistyped it, but the IPX switch is "-noipx" not "_noipx".

    And "using default master" should cause a problem. It just means that you didn't specify new master servers. It isn't a big deal.
