<div class="IPBDescription">Why ohh why does this happen?</div> hehehe sorry for the cheezy title but here goes:
When a gorge is at 100/100 and a new trait becomes availible (First D chamb is built, or you are at second hive level and drop a new chmaber) If said gorge then decided to gestate into his new traits his resource pool goes from 100/100 to 31/33 its a minor annoyance, and is easily avoided by dropping 3 OCs and a DC before gestating (so you dont waste res) but sometimes when things are heated i dont notice and gestate (lets say right after hive 2 drops and MC is avail) since everyone and their second cousin is going fade/lerk with second hive getting to 100/100 from 33/100 sometimes takes a while. Specially with 4 or 5 RTs. I hope this changes in the future.

If everyone else is maxed out the res will just flow right back to you, so no problem there. It's not like it is "wasted", it's simply re-distributed if possible.
Try and actually read what I typed. Since gestating actually drops you down to 31/33 instead of 98/100 there is no overflow because you have to get all the way back up to 100. and if youre gunna lose the RES anyway might as well make something out of it. BAH!

The res you "lose" goes into the common res pool and gets redistributed to your team on the next tick. Getting all those lerks/fades that much closer to their res goals. Sure your res takes awhile to come back, but since when is a gorge the selfish member of the team?

I always though your res goes to a res pool only if you die, if you are absolutley sure that when you get bumped down to 31/33 the 69 res you lose goes to your team I concede my point. But Id like to see that mentioned by a dev or playtester or at least on a FAQ somewhere
The only exception (as of 1.04) is that a leaving player's resources vanish.
I would agree that a gorge's resources shouldn't be lost when upgrading. I've seen this happen sometimes, and not other times. I've certainly seen it happen in 1.04.

I actually read what you typed, too bad you couldn't show the same courtesy <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Observation! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
It's sure annoying when saving for a hive, and I'm pretty sure that it is *not* purely visual.
Never had it work for me.
<i>Every</i> time I'm gorge, and with one hive, and decide to upgrade with greater then 33 res, I lose the res and end up with about 35 after I'm done.
Usually, there is another gorge on my team, and he'll report a bunch of sudden res <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
kidding.
When you are evolving do not trust the resource count it is false until 1.1 it will show the true reading when up grading will be happening.
So in short for now it looks like you lost res but in actual fact you haven't

7 RTs? Are you crazy? The build order which is proven to 100% effective is very well known:
1. Save for hive! Don't bother with those RTs, they cost 22 res each, just go right for hive. It may be boring, and your newbie teammates may complain because you're not doing anything, but you're doing your team a favor!
2. Build a sensory! Any uncloaked skulks will be instantly seen and shot by marines. With cloaking, they can frolic about without worry. The best place to build the new "SC" is a resource nozzle, as this will prevent any roaming marines from building a RT on that nozzle. You should also pick a nozzle far from the marines so that it is not destroyed by a rambo.
3. At this point you should consider building OCs. First and foremost, you should cover your SC. It is, after all, holding down one whole RT all by itself. Next, find some vents. It is essential that you seal up all the vents. Jetpack marines can use vents to reach your hive. This can be lose you the game, so keep those vents sealed. Your teammates may complain that they can't go anywhere, but the protection this grants your hive is worth it!
4. Now it's time to get some RTs so that your teammates can go lerk when the second hive is up (since most newbies do not know what a fade is and lerk has a more powerful sounding name). Search for towers close to the marines so that the marines can't claim those nozzles for themselves. Remember, if you die, it's your team's fault.
Eater.
you've tested? I thought Flay tried to fix this in 1.01 or 1.02..
