Marine Hits Not Registering

<div class="IPBDescription">Anyone have any ideas?</div> A skulk charges towards me down the long hallway. I am charged with defending Subspace, and I have plenty of hallway to do it in. I open fire, green blood splatters everywhere, and yet the skulk, like a relentless storm, continues his horrifying charge. He is almost on top of me, I'm down to the pistol, I hear the loud crunch of his jaws, and die.
I ask the guy what his HP was, and he tells me that he is still at 70.
As far as I understand it, blood = a hit. So if I see blood, I must be hitting, even if it's only one hit during that whole charge. And yet he wasn't even scratched. And this is far from the only time it happened to me. Has anyone else noted this problem before, and if so do they have any possible solution to it?

I was in this exact situation except I was the skulk... strangely I even remember the guy asking the same question after the combat, I could have sworn I was on eclipse...

You don't by any chance play on the internode or optus servers do you?

I had cara not regen... It seemed to me the marine was missing, (I was dodging like crazy) although I should have been hit, I may have just got lucky with the LMG fire cone..

however in you case he may just have been lying???

I'm pretty sure this guy wasn't using regen as other times he was very difficult to kill (not unusually difficult, but carapace-difficult - that is, 2x harder than a regen skulk). That, and he was a pretty good, direct assault-type, player - I doubt he was using regen. Of course, as you said, he may have just lied for whatever reason. Oh, and Bart, I very much doubt it was you unless you secretly play with an sg- tag.

    [EDIT]
Just to clarify, it's not the fact that he wasn't damaged that surprises me. It's the fact that there was blood, and a lot of it (which made it look like way more than one hit), and yet he wasn't damaged.

If u c the green blood i would say u r hitting them.
U have got kills before right?
Maybe they were upgraded skulks and u had no weapon upgrades, and u didn't finish em off?
    or lag?

I wonder if that is the same Eater that was trying to impersonate me and was cursing me and my family non-stop in a firearms server.

blood creation is client sides and imediately drawn if your computer says that u would have hit the enemy. BUT: the damage is server-sided. The server decides whether u hit or not and sofor whether the enemy got any damage. Pings/Lags, connection errors or server-discrepancy can result in that your computer think the enemy is there, but the server knows that he isnt. You get the blood, but enemy no damage.

@Kilmster: usually if the skulk bits like hell and deal no damage, it's partly because of the hitboxes ... but LMG versus charging skulk: you have more Hitbox area (front skulk) to hit than the skulk-model is high. So i deny that this effect caused this curiosity.
