I got reasons..
Every time I try to blink to an area quickly, I almost always get stuck in the wall, unable to move, unable to regen energy. This is so annoying, and with the new cost for fades this ability seems just to suicidal to use correctly.. can someone please tell me they're going to fix this?

o_o It works fine for me...It's a lot better than what it started out as, almost never worked and when it did you ended up with your faec in the ceiling. Just don't jump into an area with buildings or at a wall where there are pipes. Also, beware the places where there is another area under the floor you stand on. In ns_nothing, for instance, If the elevator to Foreboding Antechamber is down and you try to blink down to it, you'll end up stuck in the floor. Luckily I see lots of servers implementing an /unstuck command, or a thing that asks you if your stuck after like 30 seconds.

problem is that 30 second is sometimes to long, you either get caught and killed (can't fight back cause energy never returns) or by the time you get free the area you where going to no longer needs you there.

/stuck usually throws you in a random location with 1 HP... sometimes you have to walk across the map to some DCs

The problems with blink are exactly why I don't use it that much, but it's kinda a fair balance to such a powerful technique.

Anyway, it's been said before but blink will put the fade's head where the crosshairs are. That's why you can't just point down a corridor and blink, because that would put your legs through the floor, and why people seem to have success duck-jumping and blinking. You can also aim up.

In terms of getting stuck, you will get stuck in these scenarios:
*Blinking into a lift's floor. You CANNOT use blink to get down a lift by pointing at the floor, you will get stuck. You'll also jam the lift, so you can't get out of it by someone raising it for you.

*Sloping walls. Generaly, sloping walls will get you stuck. Look for nice, flat walls.

*For floors: any time the floor has something under it. For example, the pathway the Great Viaduct hive hangs underneath. I think it's any floor which doesn't have vacuum (ie, "out of the levell") on the other side of it.

*Any structure\life-form, but it depends on the circumstance. If you are standing in front of a WoL blocking a corridor and you target the wall on the other side of it, you'll blink and then get thrown back to where you started from but won't get stuck. On the other hand, say you're at Maintenence on Eclipse, trying to leave the base htrough the right hand exit up the ladder, and there's a WoL blocking the exit. If you target the overhang thingy, directly above a chamber, you'll get stuck with your body inside the chamber. The tendancy to get stuck inside objects is the reason why I rarely use it for attacking, but understanding how blink works really helps.

If you do actually get stuck, there are only two ways I know of to get out. 1: get whatever you're stuck in killed. 2: get a nice gorge to build you a movement chamber, use it and you'll end up safe at the hive. I have no idea if phase gates work, but the chances of getting stuck withing useing range of a PG aren't great, and the comm's not exactly going to drop you one .

    Blink rox,

Just beware of what is around you.

Cool tip, you can blink right through doors that close like this ][ just aim for the center and you come right out the other side.

    Blink has its own benefits

Check this out. It is from eclipse. Fade blocked one of those two exits from the marine base

That was very funny, because that fade could see in the marine base and all of those marines were shooting at him, but he didn't take any damage

It has btw happend to me as well but I was on the wrong side of the door. Didn't wait to see if they could hurt me. Wanted to get back in the fight again

I have changed that skin and all the other skins too...

If you want that same skin, you can download it here:

Something to add to blink hazards: railings. Especially on ns_nothing, there are a few spots where you'll hit the ceiling and come out of blink, only to have your feet wedged into a railing.

Actually, it doesn't ALWAYS jam the lift. I got a gorge to come by and raise the elevator to Foreboding Antechamber in ns_nothing when I got stuck. The first few tries it didnt work but the 3rd time or so it worked fine.

Learn to blink using the cealing,

Blinks is rediculasly powerfull when you've learnt it. Just start using it on eclipse as thats the nice map for blink.

I travel faster'n a JPer on eclipse usin blink

A rather neat trick for assaults on marine locations that have to exits opposite each other, such as the powersilo in nothing, is to aim at the ceiling above the opoosite door, blink up, and then blink down to a clear bit of floor on the other side. The advantage of this is that the marines will see your blue cloud of where you left and look for you doing an impression of a turret, this being the fate of fades that blink through marine bases.
Using that tactic I can usually see to two marines brfore the rest even figure out where I've gone. Which is funny

I was on a server today that seemed to have a very good plugin for getting stuck... called "/unstuck" or something.
