Hiding Behind Structures

as a skulk
I've just started doing this more often. I learned it from watching other skulks as a marine. Lets take a RT for example. If you keep the center of the RT inline with you and a marine by constantly strafing it will be really hard for him to hit you. You can either keep biting the structure or wait til he's out of ammo and jump at him. Most of the time if you come up to a random RT like station access alph aon eclipse and start chewing it, you will see a marine by the time you've got it down to 60% health. Just keep biting it and strafing. Your goal is to kill the structure even if it means sacrificing yourself. This also works wonders with the armory if you can catch the team while most of them are out. Taking down an advanced armory can buy your team ALOT of time. I never go for the IP's unless I think I can win the game right there. It will slow them down alot more if you hit an expensive structure or an upgrading structure.

A lot of people just rush in blindly, hoping to win the game right then and there. The fact is, unless you have a sizeable rush AND get lucky, you won't do enough damage to kill their base off. What you need to do is slow them down, taking out the expensive structures or delaying their advancement. When I rush a base, I always snap one or two bites at everything as I run by before I start gnawing on something. If you keep pressing that same item, at the very least when you die you force the commander to drop a welder, which is more expensive than you simply dying and respawning.
Anyway, you can delay marine phase gate building when game starts.
And if they are just upgrading motion tracking and you destroy that observatory, it will cost a lots of money for marines (25 + 45 = 70 rp !). Or if they have already upgraded it they cant use motion tracking for a while.
If marines have already upgraded motion track, they don't have to do it again......right?
