Yup... And when 12 year old boys bow down and kiss thier **** everyday for 10 hours a day, for some mod developers its hard not to believe the hype...

Don't play on the same servers as Flayra much as i'm in England but last time I remember acid rocketing him <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>

Didn't really say much in particular to him. Some guys starting bugging him about patches and I asked them to lay off (hes trying to play a game here guys <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>) and thats about it.

I'd ask him for some game design tips, management tips (how he kept the team together, focused, etc.) and stuff like that. I'd also give him grats on NS, naturally <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'>

In game, I'd probably just go "wow, it's Flayra! gj on NS!" and then die a lot, as usual <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>

Hehe, many of us have met flayra at least once, some many times. He's not a celebrity, but he'll keep that elite underground modgod status for the rest of his life for making such a great HL mod. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'>

What servers do you use, then pheonix?
I mostly stick to the Blueyonder ones

warservers usually seems to get the best quality of UK pub play. TheHaven is also pretty decent.

I thanked him for not kicking me off the server when they were beta testing a new map (1.1 map? not sure), i figured out the password they were using and snuck in, took them about 10 minutes to figure out i was there, once they found me on the alien team with flay and a couple others they did a vote to see if i should be kicked, almost all of them voted to kick me cept flay and a couple others, seems flayra's was the only one that mattered though. I wont say anything about the map or the game itself but i will say that those two teams that i dont remember all the names of but some had jokingly gave themselves myg0t clan sigs, and all had either dev tags, play tester tags or server admin tags on the tab list. Also most importantly, ive been playing since release of the game to the public, since day one, ive put WAY more than average hours in the game, and these guys were the best i have ever seen, no mistakes, no need to ask for directions, they knew what to do and they did it, hardcore fricking playing i was soo impressed. At one point as a marine the comm we had was giving out waypoints every 20 yards and bound orders constantly, we never had to say a thing to him HE MICROMANGED US like a bad **** RTS game...we were just there to point and shoot, he was a playtester. If all comms did what he did the way he did it the aliens would be sooo f*****d. Anyhoo it was a real treat to play with them for a few hours (till i dropped on a map load) <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'> , and it was nice to see the game the way it was meant to be played. I hope i get to do it again sometime, just hope i dont have to sneak onto the server.

but if I were ever to meet him in person, I don't know ..

I usaully (re: always <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'> ) play on Bug-eyed Aliens from Navan. It's actually in Ireland.

Me, Aldaris (my brother), Small Pichu, Draxo, Dumbo, TacT |RaDoX|, Lexual and Grendel (occasionally) all play there. I don't think anybody else of the boards plays there (well not that ever post or that you'd know anyways). The servers actaully Rev Hellfire's.

Most of the |RaDoX| clan play there, I know everybody, skill levels pretty decent. It's un-passworded apart from when we have a gather which are excellent fun to play on. Only bad thing is getting on the damn thing, it's allways full <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'>

Every now and again i'l play on Nano or FoR for a change, although ping isn't brilliant obviously. I think it was on Nano I played with Flayra.

I might try blueyonders then if it's decent. I've been meaning to kick Teoh's backside for ages <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'>

Id shake his hand, and tell him he did a great job on the mod.

One MAJOR thing Flayra needs to do, Make it so morons cant use his name. So if we see a Flayra in the server, we know he is the one.
