The bat-ish wings are some of my best work....

    looks cool

    but whats it for? map?

Wow. I bet that thing would plummet and blow up before it even took off.

I think it would plummet in to the earth as well.

I'm pretty sure the Frontiersmen aren't relying on the limited airframe technology we have availiable now...

Looks good, I've got a few custom vehicle models I've worked on myself. Any certain map you making this for?

If those four rectangles are engines, maybe you should round them off a bit. I don't think flying blocks would make good aerodynamics. Other then that it looks pretty good.

i dont think its like finished yet dude......

..Its not done, and the big blocks are becoming BIG EVIL MISSILE RACKS , the engines are the three thingies at the rear of the ship. Did i also dorget to mention this is Exo-Atmospheric Fighter? (Not to mention ITS NOT DONE YET) <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Also, the thing at the top is concave, but the lack of a skin makes it look flat

Oh, and to answer the question of "What the heck is this thing for?", Its going to be part of my upcoming TSA Tatical Orbital & Atmospheric Defesive Squadron (Waitaminute.... T.O.A.D.S.? WTH king of acryonym is <i> TOADS?</i>

Ok, how about calling it the TSA 23rd Squadron, Based out of T.S.A.R.C.* Regulon, a converted Transport ship (look for a post in the Fan Fiction Section soon about their exploits)

    (*TSARC=Trans. System Authority Regestered Craft)

...PACK! somthing to bring the whole NS universe together besides the Logos of the TSA strewened about and the player models... (Sorry for getting off topic before)

    Looks very good!

Although you said that those blocks on the rear part of the ship are to be missile racks, I think you should have the back part of them as engines too, since the current engines seem a bit small for a ship of that size...
That'd look really nice in my opinion.

Hmm.... Your right, some major tweaking is in order

I think the amount of drag would cause it to be either 1) extremely loud or 2) blow up and die from a crash killing thousands of civilians because of a shoddy design.

It´s difficult to be loud in the absence of air... <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

odd design concept you have there, looks like a shark flew into the back of an apache, cant wait to see it skinned.

I think you should move away from milkshape 3d and get Gmax.

Here is a ship I am working on for a NS movie. Tell me what you think.

    The "Sabbath 037"

    <a href='http://www.tuffcentral.com/ns/sabbath2.jpg' target='_blank'>http://www.tuffcentral.com/ns/sabbath2.jpg</a>
    <a href='http://www.tuffcentral.com/ns/sabbath3.jpg' target='_blank'>http://www.tuffcentral.com/ns/sabbath3.jpg</a>
    <a href='http://www.tuffcentral.com/ns/sabbath4.jpg' target='_blank'>http://www.tuffcentral.com/ns/sabbath4.jpg</a>

The ship is a Marine Dropship that can carry 10 marines and a command chair.

    Email feedback to <a href='mailto:rafeo@tuffcentral.com'>rafeo@tuffcentral.com</a>

Golly-gee, Batman, that moon lander sure wasn't very aerodynamic, was it? That's because it didn't have to be.

This thing's designed to be a spacecraft. Exactly how you expect flaps on wings or smooth surfaces to have any effect on trajectory when there's nothing passing over them, I don't know. All that matters is a propulsion system that can bank a hard right [or left, or up, or down, or roll], which could require vents somewhere near the nose? On the side?

As for Rafeo, unless that's to be a a ship that can enter and leave the atmosphere, you may not need wings, unless those wings contain directional exhaust vents, which would be goood. Headcrab's ship is quite obviously too small to survive atmosphere entry, but Rafeo's -might-. I don't know what scale it's at, though. Seems like its cockpit isn't very well shielded with all that open glass to be surviving the white-light heat of reentry.

Yeah but it has to <span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'> LOOK COOL!</span>

It does have to look kool! This ship is a lander and I am sure since it is a game that it will survive the re-entry of a planet. I agree that we should take physics approach when creating ships, but we also need to carry the look and feel of the Marines. For instance...The command chair has a shape similar to the ship (Sabbath). The marine look although bulky at times has a sleek rounded look on the edges. If you need me to I can include the fact that my ship has drop down armor for any glass on the outer shell. Actually I will include that in the movie. Thanks for the feedback!

as it has been previously said, in the absense of air, there is no friction caused by air I shall give the (sad) example of space shuttles, which only use those heat tiles upon reentry (friction causes heat, no friction causes no heat and thus no heattiles needed in space)

And, for god's sake, isn't this a game? it can be a cube and zoom at lightspeed if he wanted!

hey thanks for the idea cereal

/me starts modelling a lightspeed cube

Nicely said Kahler, it doesnt have to be aerodynamic for spaceflight. It does help to make it look cool, and I like the design he has so far for his exoatmospheric apache <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
I think it does need a little larger drive engines, and maybe some wings that contain the manuvering thrusters (as previously suggested.)

To me, this craft seems a little small for a bomber, even a spaceborne one. When I think bomber, I think a big honkin behemoth compared to a standard fighter, like the old quad engine bombers of the olden days. Your design seems to lend itself more to a light to medium fighter design, small enough to be manuverable, yet carries a pretty good assortment of weapons. But I would imagine, not enough of the heavy bombs/torpedos to really damage a large carrier or other large military spacecraft which would [assume] have REALLY thick armor, and be able to withstand a good amount of punishment before a hull breach occurred.

    So far so good <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Missile racks eh? That'll be something to see. Well, I look forward to seeing a completed version, as I do all ships.

Allright, after taking all your suggestions inot consideration, I have decided to do MAJOR modifications to the Geist, look for a newer version soon!
