You Can Have Fgd From 2 Diffrent Mods In One Map?

im going to Download Hammer editor but this just came in my mind,can you use 2 mods FGD in one map for either of the mods?

    as long as the mod the map is made for has all of the entities in it...

    You can open the same map with either FGD, but entities from one FGD will not carry over to another. Even if it did, the mod your making the map for wouldn't know what to do with the other MODs entities.

    So i need to fuse the FGD's?or what,because theres one Stargate TC,it got working stargate + transportation rings in it,i would wanna make map with these for ns,just if i learn to map <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> ,i attach the FGD with this post.ok,how i get some ns map for example hera from bsp to readable format for hammer editor 3.4?i could try modifying one of ns maps have ring transport for to get in mapping,but hey i tried using vertex tool,i make a room i finish sizing it,i try make another and another room disapperears <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> .

    You seem confused about what an FGD actually does, so allow me to explain. An FGD is nothing more than a reference manual or an encyclopedia about the entities available in a mod. If you change the FGD, you will not be able to actually make those entities work in the mod. So it's not likely that you'll be able to do an effect like this, unfortunately.

    As for your question about transforming .bsp's into something that VHE can read, the short answer is "You can't." If you could, then what would stop a random llama mapper from opening up a .bsp that you made, changing one or two things, then calling the whole thing his own work?

    So i can make map with entities from 2 mods in 1?because i wanna make NS map where you are able to use Rings to transport over another place(i got idea of making map where Marines Start in abonded Ha'tak,and aliens got 2 hives at abonded Goa'uld base,Goa'uld base got Ring Transport as well Humans do,and thats only way in out,it would be so that nobody can build near the rings,so marines cant get out of the rings and engage and vice versa,the planet maybe could have stargate and ha'tak most definately will have one,so players can dial there,but more get throught,because only 4 people fit rings each time).

    Sorry, but it appears you didn't even listen to Rhoads. I assume the entities you used in the Stargate map are Stargate specific. The code, ie, what makes the map does what it does, is NOT compiled in the map OR the fgd. It's in the CODE. You cannot change the code, that is what Flayra does. The fgd simply allows you to reference it. As such code from one mod will not ever work in another mod. It just wouldn't make sense. Oh sure, you could toss the entities from Stargate in, and you'd see the entities, and I'm sure in Stargate they'd work fine, but then when you run in NS, NS simply wouldn't know what do with them. You'd get a lot of "could not initiate ....... " in the console and they simply would not function.

    Why do you even need that other fgd, you can just fake it, in fact you should "fake" it.

    because that mod what haves em got em working(textured etc)they also got working stargate,but i'd wanna combine NS and SGTC by that i could add Stargates,Rings on maps im gona make if i learn to map(havent found tutorials <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->)

    des, look at the webbed topics there you will find links to sites with tuts. also do a search in the forum for tutorials, its not too much asked now is it?

    i can tell you right now that you will never finish this stargate map that you have a vague conception of. I'd suggest starting with small 1 or 2 room maps to learn how to map. Don't go for huge super great maps that will turn the community on its ear because you don't really know what you're doing yet and you won't come close to finishing it.
