Setting Up Commander Hotkeys?

TweedleTweedle Join Date: 2002-11-07 Member: 7581Members
<div class="IPBDescription">"bind mouse4 hotkey59" not working?</div> Can someone please post their comm binds? I'm setting up binds for each class so I don't have to fumble with menus for things I frequently use. (Need Health and Need Ammo on the side mouse buttons should prove rather useful <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->)

I'm using Rabid Llama's bind list, but the hotkey binds don't seem to work.

Help!

main problem ive seen with commander hotkeys is that you cant bind stuff to mouse buttons while in commander mode, if you are in the comm chair you can only left click and nothing else does anything!

took a while for me to realize people couldnt hear my bind "mouse3" "+voicerecord"

Also, Hotkey59 only works with the 'drop' menu open. Oh, and it only selects it.. you can't script anything to 'drop medpack' with one click, as far as I can see. Hotkeys have to be raw-bound to keys.. can't be part of an alias. Also can't use them with a semicolon. Just has to be the raw 'bind "home" hotkey59' to work.

Mouse button binds are overuled by the Commander Mode code, to allow left click and right click to work properly regardless of your keybinds on the ground (some people use right click for jump or move forward, for instance). Unfortunately, this is *all* mouse buttons, not just M1 and M2.

Funny, lol, I get my health and ammo to mouse 4 and 5, couldn't understand why they didn't work either, lol. Guess its time to bind them elsewhere <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

maybe u could bind a key that would exec a script that would select the equip menu and then med pack then drop?

that might be a work around to the problem where before you can use the health/ammo/etc bind you have to be in the equip mode first, which is a huge pain in the arse

Nope. The Hotkeys (used in Comm mode) don't work with any scripting. Raw binds only. That's why they're Hotkeys, and not Impulses. They're that way specifically to disable the one-key medpack shower.

Yeah, they make it so you have to have a one-key-one-mousebutton health spam bind <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

And yes, everything that's been said about hotkeys so far is true. You can't do anything but bind it and JUST it to a key (or run it and JUST it directly in console). All other attempts at automating anything further have failed <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

I have a commander hhotkey script. But you have to constantly reset it, so it's kind of annoying.
