is there a server?
i am just wondering if there is a server somewhere that helps people become better at commanding. that will be cool. each marine takes turns being it and the aliens should go easy of course. i am a fairly expierenced player but I have never been commander. i need some training in other words.

wonky commander controls. That is really 2/3 of the battle.

Find a server that only has one or two people on it (It helps even more if they are just hanging out in the ReadyRoom waiting for more people) and let them know you want to practice Comming and see if they'd be willing to help out...you know, one guy goes Marine with you and the other Alien. Hopefully the Alien player will back off to give you some Comm practice, and when you start to get the hang of things the Alien player can do whatever. That's what I usually do, but you sometimes run into people that attack you anyways or other people suddenly join in and that's the end of that...unless they're cool and everyone doesn't take the game all that seriously.
It would be nice to have a server like this, but I doubt you'd find many people willing to set a server aside for just Comm practice. Most people want to just get on with the killing and owning.
You could join your regular server, play for a good few games, when everyone's settled in and already had their immediate NS fix just hop in the chair one game. It doesn't really MATTER if you stuff up a game for your team (come on, it's a pub server and it's just a game) and your teammates are more likely to take that view if they've already had a few decent games.
Bots are great, lots of room to experiment and they dont' eject you.
