I use it by pressing the mouse wheel...

when you step into the comm chair all of your mouse buttons are unbound,
set a backup key for when u go into the chair(ex: bind v "+voicerecord")

'nother voice comm problem. and i think i'll use this thread.
my mic is very quiet, i have to shout about one inch from it for people to understand me online. all settings are maxed. what should i try?

try running voice_tweak.exe in your half-life directory. enable +20dB hardware gain.

that is a possibility, but iw as hoping for some free third party software that boosted the input signals.

If you check under the advanced properties of the audio settings tab (inside sound config)
there will be a checkbox named 1 mic boost. put a tick on it.
if you already done this, then you better get another mic.
