Argh! My Server Is Always Busy!

A lighter note from serious admin stuff
I've been wanting to mess with a few new administrative amx plugins and test some other plugins I've tweaked, but my server is never empty! Starting several days ago, the server is busy from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed. Under the "a good server is a reliable server" mantra, I can't bring it down while people are on it. I would have never thought this would be a problem, but it is actually starting to irritate me. I'll have to get up at 5AM one of these days to work on it. I love the fact that I always have a place to play where I can control the amount of llamaness around me, but a little "down time" would be nice.
I'm not joking.
My agitation is of such an odd nature I thought I'd post it here. Anyone else having similar "problems" ?
(For those of you who are trying to get traffic on your server, play on it as much as you can for as many consecutive days as you can. People attract people. Active admins attract even more people. Have a reliable server and people will come back every time they want to play.)

I have 3 servers which are never ever empty.
I remember making the code for reserved slots, if it wasnt for the slots I would _NEVER_ get in.

Luckily my server is still semi noobish so a lot of people come and go.. there are usually a few free slots. On the busy times though, I've had to wait 10+ minutes for a free slot.
(Goddess I use a lot of parenthesis)
I put up a second server that I use as my Guinea pig/scrim server. Thats the only way I can test out my new mods and plugins.
ggrrr....didn't have this problem before....it was full 24/7.......took off my "multikill" and now it seems to be empty.
Then the SiD guys joined and it started to get full again.

Yes, we had same problem about servers being full. So the link below explains how we tried to correct it.

I think the one thing that really brought the regulars in was our forums. Prior to the implementation of our forums, we had transients for the most part.
Make sure you have a link that pops up in game every 10 minutes or so.
i still don't have any forums.

For windows, just make a batchfile that calls itself after calling the hlds
then when the exe ends, it'll call again...

Anyone else run a private server?
Oh, and I was under the impression that if you make changes in the plugin ini files that it takes effect the next map change. I know it does in AdminMod, but does that not apply for AMX Mod?
Yeah, I just do what I have to do, then wait for a mapchange. (I'm Using AdminMod, of course...AMX can't be that different, can it?)
