I think that blink should be replaced with an Unreal Tournament translocator style thingy...
Maybe the fade could lauch a small pod from a valve in his arm or something (which could fly like an acid rocket - doesn't necassarily have to be affected by gravity or anything (Although maybe it would work better like that? Needs testing)) and when the fade fires again they could teleport to the location of the pod... When the pod hits a wall, however, it could burst and stop the fade from blinking to it - this is to allow players to have another go if they miss their target or something, without having to teleport first...
This would mean that the player would have to time it very well however, especially if they wanted to blink right next to marines or all the way to a far wall, because the pod may burst if they leave it too late and they may arrive too short of their target if they blink too hastily (and of course it would be very hard to judge where exactly the pod is at a certain point in time)
This idea would probobly be worse for getting stuck, but better for getting out of it if you are! lol <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
I just want them to properly fix blink. I've got stuck in floors, doors, offence chambers, you name it. The worst is when you've spent ages saving up to go fade and them immediately get stuck in something and have to kill yourself.
Not to mention blink failing to work when you're trying to get away because there's some tiny obstruction in the way.

i swear to god, my ns blink is screwed so badly. and for some reason it happens just to me. Whenever i blink, there is a 75% chance i will just... die. i have rebound and rebound from console and controls menu, but it always has the exact same chance. the last 30 times i did it was in my own server where i went to just test it, map was ns_nothing and i went down in viaduct hive. I turned sv_cheats 1 so i could evolve fade and i just started blinking around. i lived the first time, died the next 3, lived the first time, died the next 3.
Hey, NemZer, at least it's better than the usual 'this owns, this sucks' threads.
Rumours are exactly that. Rumours. Let the spinners spin! <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> Well, yeah, that's what they start out as. But then someone takes it seriously, or only reads the title/skims the thread. Then all of a sudden to many people it's not a rumour, it's what's actually happening. That's why spreading rumours isn't a good idea. It generates too much confusion and arguments.
My trouble with Blink is that it doesnt always work... I jump and crouch and attemt to blink and 2/3 of the time it works, the other 1/3 it just plays the animation and depletes the fades stamina... Very annoying!
The worst building to get stuck in is the hive! the unsticking script doesnt work and there is no way to get out <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> . Otherwise its fine for me. hopefully there will be a fix for my problems with blink, but its too much to expect everything in such an innotive mod to work first time everytime on such differing systems as are used for the gameplay.
All in all i think blink should be improved in reliability, not removed.

I think last week on eclipse I blinked into the marine base... right into the middle of their armoury LOL, i managed to get it down to the last bar before i ran out of energy then i was stuck there for a good minute until an ally set me free <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->

No. Just no. Blink is intended mainly for faster travel/quick escape. This only serves you to screw off on your own and have some fun trying to aim your "blink pod". It would slow you down, it would PREVENT you from escaping, it would all around hurt more than help.
I'm gonna sue the entire NS team if they change blink cuz all these noobs that dont know how to use it think it sucks and should be replaced. Blink is the coolest ability in NS and possibly the most versatile other than the lovely web. It's especially helpful in maps like ns_nothing, where there are tons of elevators. Always, always, ALWAYS leave the elevators DOWN. The ONLY evolution that needs them is gorge, just give them a boost. Leaving the elevators down slows marines, or if they have a need for speed they jump down and take some falling damage. o_o I'm getting off topic here:
