green and black stripes = yuck!

    [edit]
    sorry, that wasn't constuctive.

The grey painted doors don't match with the brown exposed metal walls and floor, they look really odd.

I imagine their is a lot of padding/seating to go in ?

After riding that can through the atmosphere and surviving the landing, I'm not sure aliens would seem very scary...  <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->

Looking good! I do think I'd rather see white/red or black/yellow for that hazard strip. There have been a long standing history of those colors having significance in communicating hazards. Green/black just doesn't look right to me.

I fixed the stripe as i tryed to make it torn and when making the background on it appear more so did the result become green. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
so i remade it more clear like this so is this better.
    and i like the doors. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

that's funny hearing you say that after making the old NS World color scheme.

Cliff: make friction brakes. They're metal panels that pop out from the side (hinged on the bottom) that use atmospheric friction to slow down a spaceship. That way, it won't kill the marines, and you can use the budget for something other than airbags. Also it'll look cool.

I have yust not added the air brakes as i wanted to make the seats first to see how many pollys the models runs up to after them.
the model is now yust around 700 pollys.
Iam planning to keep the modell under 1000 pollys in its final state.
thats why it can look blocky later?
be patient so will i post screens as soon as i have made some more on it. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

I think it looks a lot better.  I can't wait to see it with the sets and everything in it.  If I had to suggest anything,  I'd maybe remove the doors on the floor and ceiling.  Personally, they just don't make much sense to me, escpecially considering the thickness of the pod on the top and bottom.  Unless they're not designed to be used as exit doors, of course.

I agree with Greedo, but keep the lower door, it could be used to repair the "ship" if needed. Those warningstripes look alot better now, they were bugging me aswell, but the yellow and black ones seem to be used far too often, have you tried with red and white, tho it looks ok the way it is now. I'm sure it'll look great once the seats are in.

Thanks for the input the doors in the floor and ceiling is supposed to be repear and adjustement module cover doors yust for the coolnes of it. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
And this model will be aviable to all the ns mappers to like the cargo ship model as soon as badmofo and i can finalize the map.
and then will there also be a whole bunch of new textures to. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

    Looking good.

I would suggest some screens or something of a similar nature, just to liven it up a bit.  And maybe some flickering lights considering the force of the landing  <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->

I actually preffered the green stripes, they looked more futuristicy. I guess its just my pet hate of those yellow/black stripes. Maybe you could add a couple screens to display some basic tragectory (Surgicial removal of trag?) information or somthing like that. Maybe you could add some handles around the place for the marines to hang onto while the pod is in microgravity.

Looking really good, but a question about using such large models for structural purposes - how is lighting being done? If it's outside, the player models will get their lighting from the ground underneath, or the light_environment if the 'sun' isn't blocked by worldspawn. Not insurmountable, but could give unpleasant effects...  <!--emo&???--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'><!--endemo-->

As for re-entry, I think ablative shielding (energy goes into burning a thick coating, which then slowly drops off in lumps, carrying the energy away with it) and Soyuz-style parachutes and rockets which (usually) ignite just before the capsule slams into the Siberian tundra.
