well, its coming along nicely, i dont want to say anything w/out regis' permission so i will leave everything up with him, this movie is very promising though...I think regis is going to start a Chaos Films NS branch since he has fallen in love with this mod... <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
*EDIT* go to <a href='http://www.chaosfilms.dodhq.net' target='_blank'>http://www.chaosfilms.dodhq.net</a> regis has posted an update on the movie...
I've just watched your Escape from Festung... and I must say... i'm rather curious why you didn't give credit to those massive RtCW voices/musics you used...
im d/ling now <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
i must say i'm rather disappointed, I was expecting more... but...
Good effort, good directing, and good actings... the action/plot were rather weak... too many suspensions and when it ended it was just more suspension, causing a great feeling of incompleteness. Must I say, seem kinda rushed. Yet, The suspense were created great... I feel that it's... well, how should I say it... Regis lacked a sense of drama... he's doing great on creating all those atmosphere, but the film... like, how should I say it, it doesn't seem like a film, it seemed more like seeing a directed demo... it lacked the interaction between the heros and the audience, causing the audience to think, "SO what if he dies? I don't care..."
well, at least that's what i think. I will call this constructive criticism, but if you don't like it, meh, i could edit it ^^
TO BE CONTINUED??? SON OF A **** <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo-->
I would have to agree with Acrobad, it didn't really give the audience anything to care about. I did not like the constant camera movement; although I must say the security door part was good. The end was rather weak.
I think you should have taken a longer time editing and reshooting parts of it. At 1 part the dead marine body on the ground moved and for some reason the last marine alive kept pushing the use key. I'm not sure if that was supposed to happen but I think it screwed it over a bit. Another thing would have to be the constant replay of the marine dieing from the skulk attack. Regis, you seem to like to do this effect in alot of your movies and honestly I don't think you use it constructive.
The acting was good but I did not like the last scream, it wasn't very believable. I did like when the skulk chuckled though, very humorous.
Overall I think the direction was fairly good but very repetative. I believe you should have spent more time to perfect every shot and see which angles work best. I believe you tried to make it very dramatic but ended up with it being overdramatic with the camera angles and constant repetition of them.
I don't think this has been the best production coming from CHAOS FILMS and I think you could have made it alot better had you spent more time on it.
Have you watched the NS Trailer? It should be still hosted on NS.org... now there's a dramatic and intense short clip... That cloaked skulk, that leap, those whispering, those marines wetting their pants... (one would imagine)
methinks what you're missing can be learnt from this short clip ns Trailer...

Just my 2 cents.
