Babblers are weaker versions of a skulk. they do only 20 damage per bite, and 40 damage per mini xenocide.

Babblers are the best defensive weapon for gorges. it may also be used for offensive, but that isn't nessesary.

to use babblers, you just select babblers and 'shoot' it. a babbler will appear, and if an enemy is nearby, it will go towards it and attack it. If there are no enemies around , the babbler will travel VERY SLOWLY towards in any direction. Babblers and very dumb, but in groups, they are very deadly.

60% of the time, babblers will not spawn, or spawn in the ground.

the proper way to spawn babblers is:
Aim higher and they will spawn for sure.

To give you babbler a boost, aim a lil higher than default, jump, and in mid-air, spawn a babbler.what rthis does thst the babbler spawns in mid-air, and he gets a lil boost, and when he lands, he bounces in a hilariously way, and then walks normally.

Babblers automatically explode after a little while if they don't get shot. It's a very weak explosion - not really a xenocide. But it's pretty damaging compared to the piddling damage they do with their teeth.

For my money, babblers are purely for entertainment. Healing spray/spit do more damage, and babblers are almost worthless defensively because they just evaporate as soon as they're shot. The only area where they're even remotely useful is as camoflage for skulks.

I actually use bablers alot when i can. When the aliens siege a base i start building def towers first, then off towers. Normally the aliens go attack and let me build, then when the martines come, i toss out a load of bablers. they may be weak but watch the marines run when you throw them they start shooting webs. Off towers are also good to use with bablers as the bablers give the tower time enough to build while the constant stream of bablers kills the marines off.

Babblers are awsome against jetpackers they chase the buggers up the walls and accross the ceiling at remarkably high speed which is especially annoying for the jetpacker if he is trying get the hive with his HMG/welder.

Babblers sometimes sink into the ground after being spawned as well, I think it's down to bugs in the map though.

If you're alone and all you have is some webs, limited energy, and 3 options to swat the insolent human, babblers are the most cost efficient of them all. They're also the only gorge weapon that hurts buildings worth a hoot.

webs+babblers = rine death, you just wait for the rine to get caught in the webs and let lose the fun, also i think babblers are great for making marines waste there ammo, if you just keep popping them out then the rine focus' his attention on it, not knowing if its real or a babbler and starts shooting, 50 shots from a lmg dont last you long when popping the little buggers. Also babblers are great distractions for other skulks.

Well assuming you have 3 hives, I think the necessity for babblers has to be pretty small. I would however like to make mention that babblers are wonderful toys when being the Camping Gorge. Try this one for instance, place some webs in a obvious spot, and camp cloaked as a gorge in front of it. :-) If anything the marine will look for possible gorges around the corner prior to jumping into the web, thats when the babblers come in. Spawn a few babblers and the marine will likely run into the web in a vain attempt to avoid the "greater threat." From there, mwahahah...

Babblers are very deadly.

They ALWAYS die with a boom, a weak version of xenocide.

Use them correctly, for good results.

Also, if you have adrenaline, you can spawn in 4-5 at a time!

Fear the Babblers!

And, yes your babblers may attack you just give them some distance and you have nothing to fear.

But nothing more fun then when you got 3 hives, marines utterly locked in with structures and web then to have a team of 8 gorges all charging in spamming babblers.

i just played a game where everyone left on aliens went gorge (about 7) and we had a massive babbler rush. It was on a server that allows lerks to pick up gorges, so we had one gorge being flown above marine spawn playing tunes and raining death from above. it was all over in about 10 seconds because we had about 30 babblers or so.
