well, m'boy, you have good taste. I wasn't ever really into astroboy, but the Voltrons (sniff), gi joe, mask, pole position (sob), thundercats (waaah!!)...proof that not everything about growing up in the eighties was totally +3l-l 5u(l<.

edit: or perhaps, proof that we are, after all, a generation of GEEEEKS.

heh, I was on a server the other day and someone lerking in a vent voice comm'd "I am the terror that flaps in the night". we were in stitches.

Dinoriders, Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I agree with you on those.

Super Mario Bros show was lame, though.

I miss watching Batman: The Animated Series. But that's an early 90s cartoon. TMNT and Transformers kick butt, though.

Whats with the name He-man anyways? Is it just He the Man or am i missing something? Hercules man? Hero Man?

Anyone remember Stinkor? the one that smelled like crap, and had a little gasmask (to keep from smelling himself?). What an idea that was... New Onos ability?

Robotech was late 70's you nub! I think. :P At least, I've never ever ever seen it broadcasted, and I watched a LOT of tv when I was young.

Oh and He-Man's alter-ego was prince whineysomething. Prince "I have big muscles and hair like he-man but am a total wuss so I can't be him". Did anyone else think She-Ra was hot? I sure did...

Also, this link is full of very very bad words, but it is too good to not post. ThunderCats Outtakes. Again I say, very bad language, BUT HILARIOUS!

Oh man, who's the nub? YOU!!! Robotech came out in 1985. I watched it in serialized format on (UHF ) TV when I was 11. It was on everyday after school. The reason you didn't see it was:

1) You're a punk nublet who is too young.
2) It was on a FOX-style UHF channel that you probably didn't have access to because...
3) ... you were living in Oklahoma and cow-tipping.

Monse, you're so mean *Cries*

My first addiction to Robotech came from seeing first "era"(everything but minh-mae(sp?) was awesome about that show) on Cartoon Network. Seeing a few of the episodes from later "eras" they kinda sucked.

As I kid I grew up on Thundercats, TMNT, and Boomerang-slated cartoons.

OMG!! NOSTALGIA!! NOOO!!

I sold all my TMNT figures, I still have an original fuzzy purple cat from heman, and I did have castle greyskull too. Plus, I still have the three conversion Optimus Prime with his trailer.

Worst thing about the eightys, big hair rock bands....

I still have castle greyskull as well along with a bumblebee from trans.(he was so non-heterosexual now that I think about it...), and soundwave. Soundwave was my favorite in Transformers. I AM NOT MONOTONE. ohhhhhh..... transformers, why won't they bring the 80's cartoons back? I feel sorry for the kids of today....

almost forgot to ask, when did Fragglerock brodcast?

Robotech rules. Sadly I first found out about it in the late 90s when a friend gave me one of the books. Got hooked on the show later. But as always, the books are better.

I didn't mention Robotech because all they showed me as a kid was the Robotech: Movie made up of a few episodes. So yeah.... no Robotech for me as a kid.

*hugs Robotech Macross saga DVDs*

*hugs Super Dimensional Fortress Macross DVDs*

80's cartoon was the best (possibly because of my child hood developed there)

Lonny tunes is good but came way before 80?s cartoon's
• BurrBurr Join Date: 2002-11-19 Member: 9358Members
the 80's were the golden age of cartoons, where mindless violence ruled, and entertainment was priority....

I remember when NBC stoped showing saturday morning cartoons, and starting showing crap like saved by the bell, I beleive that was the end of good saturday morning cartoons as we know it. Nowadays its all about teaching us something, well If I want to be taught, I will go to school, and on staurday mornings I want my brain to rot until I forget what I did learn in school.

Burr, standing ovation man. That is the main reason why I think building a time machine would be useful.
