Feedback On Layout

<div class="IPBDescription">Can I get some suggestions/critisim plz?</div> Hello! Could I have some feedback on a layout for my map? Its my first NS map so im not sure about the layout. Things like the number/placement of res nodes etc.

Ok,

<ul>
<li>Blue = Marine Start
<li>Red = Alien Hive
<li>Green = Res node
<li>Purple = Venting
</ul>

The large chunk of stuff in the lover-left is going to be caves - they wont be that open as it'll be lots of different levels/rocks etc. But this is only a rough layout - the rooms & corridoors will be a more "interesting" shape etc. (Eg they wont be all square in the final thing). So can anyone give comments/suggestions/critisims on it?

    lower part needs more walls.
    lower left hive is worse than upper right hive.

    By more walls, do you mean make the lower part less open?

    And by "worse" do you mean for the aliens? (Bad for res) or bad for marines trying to take over it? (To defendable)??

    Also I dont suppose anyone knows what the speed of someone in HA is in hammer units/sec???

    2 times yes.
    Your Marine speed depends on the whole equipmend (HA, Guns, Welder/mines) the whole ammo (!) and even on your own fps.

    I'd suggest more rooms and points of interest on the routes between the hives. Routes between hive seem too direct at the moment.

    I also suggest you reserve placement of a double node for balancing your level rather than placing it at the outset.
