I've seen a lot of posts complaining about "balance issues" and the wait for the new patch. Frankly, I think you're all doing a great job with this game. I think you're fixing what needs it and adding cool new stuff while you're at it. I'm really excited about the changes coming, and I know you're working really hard to make it happen. I just felt like it was mostly the trolls being heard, and I wanted to represent the happy and delighted NS players .

flayra himself would probably be the first to say this, but hes busy making 1.1
Brownnosing would be playing all fake and all just to gain someone's favor. What good could it be for any of us to have Flay's favor? Not like he's gonna place a special "Don't let this IP play NS" code in or something. We have nothing to gain or lose due to Flayra's high or low opinion of us.
Encouragement would be "Hey dev team, you guys rock, and this is a great mod that you've put together. Keep up the good work (and maybe add in the Gorge Lift the S&I guys were talking about)". That's just saying basically that we appreciate all the hard work (slavery) [they don't get paid I don't think. unless we donate money to them].
So I say, if you don't want us to say anything nice to the dev team, screw you. But I also say, good job dev team I love this game and I want to see it become even better than it is!

you souldnt stick words in Flayra's mouth.
and Im sure the dev team appreciates all the kind words said about the mod. Some people go a little over the top - but its just all in good fun.
there no one here that seriously considers Flayra a god, nor want to have his children (well ... I assume ...).
its all said in good fun, and with all these negative posts around the forums these days, these are something I'd like to see more of.
I respect Flayra more then any of you could ever imagine and I do elivate him to 'god status' in regards to the general populous around these forums. Call it 'brown nosing' if you want, but hes earned my respect, which is much more then I can say for the majority of the people here.
UT2003: £30 Playtime of about a week
NS: £Free Playtime of about (Erm how long has it been since the release??)
Lets just say it was worth the Download and Wait. (Unlike UT2003 which wasn't worth the wait...)
Good job guys!
people seem to elevate the dev teams to godlike status.
They deserve offering of first born children, or 20 years of indentured servitude. all amont of praise is understandable, they work hard so you can play hard, we SHOULD be grateful.

I couldn't agree more with what you said.

examples of brownnosing on the ns forums plz? I saw a few praise posts but the posts were far from idolising.
of course now i know how to play effectively i no longer think that, and i am beginning to wonder whether the balance changes the NS team made in the light of all these complaints was the right thing to do, maybe it was, maybe not
i really think the manual should have been more straight forward, its full of the background stories and info on the world of NS, but it didnt contain much in the way of actual hints as to how to play NS effectively, and it also didnt come with a hazard zone course meaning that newbies either had to learn on the fly or plough through a dauntingly big manual to find the hints and tips.
what is good however is a lot of the community is surprisingly tolerant of newbies, i managed to get a friend of mine to go comm on a public server, and the marine team helped him and the aliens even promised not to attack, i was on alien and they let me stand in their base to give instructions to my friend
Keep it up and have a cookie.

There. Now wig out and call me a brown nosed poster. It will crush me, and I dont know if I will be able to carry on. *

** I know, it was obvious. Still, amazingly, some of the posters here will miss it.
