NS is a team game. That means you need to rely on your team performing in order to do well.
If key members of your team aren't performing, you have two options: 1. Try to enjoy the miserable beating you're about to receive. 2. Try to coerce/educate your team members.
I suppose people could go about #2 in a more polite fashion. But it's silly to suggest that players should just keep silent and mindlessly obey. The only thing unique about the gorge/comm is he was the first player to evolve/hit the chair. This doesn't confer upon that player special wisdom or authority.
C'mon, zip, read this post... you have a fan or two <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
You know what, Mr. Leet exists because of a little someone I'd like to call Mr. Idiot. Mr. Idiot likes to join games and then try and build a sentry chamber first against a skilled marine team, then the skilled marine team sees the first cloaked skulk and LMG rushes the hive and wins and they can't understand why people tell them that if they go gorge again they're getting kick voted. Mr. Idiot is the reason we are intolerant and unflexible. Mr. Idiot joins a game where the aliens have decided on a tactic, we're all going to stay skulks with one gorge untill atleast the second hive goes up, Mr. Idiot is told not to go gorge, but immediatly does it anyways, or goes first hive lerk(nearly as stupid), In the words of Cartman "I'll do what I want". When the team gets mad at him for this he proceeds to voice spam and make an **** of himself. When the kick vote passes and Mr. Idiot is ejected from the game, he immediatly types retry at the console and jumps back in, joins the same team, and continues to be as much of an **** as possible because he doesn't think he deserved to be kicked, if he's an American this is the point when the argument that he has some sort of guaranteed freedom to this behavior usually pops up, wanker. Mr. Idiot likes to try and play Commander too, he likes to do things like, drop two PG in his own base, or drop a couple extra command chairs, or turret farm like mad, or maybe health spam rambos. Mr. Idiot can't imagine any way to win short of turret farming as much of the map as possible to lock down resource nodes so that he can hand out HA and GL to his crew(GL instead of HMG because GL is more "elite") and forget about JPs or any other tactic, and welders are for sissies don't expect this big man to hand them out. Mr. Idiots age range seems to be mainly between 11 and 15. Mr. Leet is born when Mr. Experienced/Mr. Competitive has to deal with Mr. Idiot one too many times. In short, if you really have a problem with a skilled Mr. Leet, congratulations, you may be Mr. Idiot.

holy crap i never thought of it that way. haha good stuff. I've seem MANY mr. idiots in my time (started playing on day 1) and i would have to agree that this is a major cause to the mr. leet thingy, as bad as your definition was.

I think you are correct on quite a bit there Ollj. However, I think it can all be summed up in the following:
Someone who does not help others (especially new people) Someone who believes that winning 3 times with the same tactic is better than trying other tactics.
As Kenichi says, Attholes and "elite"-Clanners border on these. And I certainly have seen a few people who fit nicely under pretty much all of your descriptions. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
i have to agree <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> MR Leets can be quite unhelpful, especially when he tell's you what to do when your the gorge/com and he starts yelling and whining cuz you just didnt do a single thing as he wanted it to be <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo-->

a few things you should take into consideration:
*- The comm IS god, following his orders WILL=victory if you ALL follow them EXACTLY ALLWAYS(and provided your comm is
halfway decent)
*- The Gorge should be a skilled player who knows what hes doing OR SHOULD BE WILLING TO TAKE ADVICE IF NOT SKILLED
*- The gorge who IS skilled ought to be listened to, after all, he is the one who plops the dc's <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
*- Aliens work best when the gorge has a field lieutenant who tells him whats goin on at the front, this guy also aught
to know whats up... He should be responsible for "hive is cleared" "its safe to go that way" DONT COME THIS WAY!~!!" <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> Hallelouya to tha paradise!
Well I've met Mister Leet. And usually, he's a damn good addition to a team, cause he has voice comm, and knows what he's talking about. And other players on the team listen to it, and do it, and it usually results in a win. Which is fine by me.
The other day I took a hand at commanding for the second time ever. Map was tanith, I think (the one with the Unnamed hive and the Mess Hall). Anyways, I built turrets everywhere. This was not a strategy that current marines liked, for some reason. Alas, when I had 610 resources and 2 hive locations controlled, and every marine could get HA and HMGs, they weren't whining about it <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->. You should have seen how many turret kills there were.
Point is, turrets don't suck. I MEAN.. sorry. Point REALLY is, a different strategy isn't always bad. Mister Leet just wants to win, is all. And if he goes gorge, then I guess that makes him unofficial alien "commander".

I've slowly come around to using them occasionally. Spikes, after the "shocking" revelation of how to aim them was revealed on the boards, are now a great addition to any skulk assault.
The way I see it, one or two Mr.Leets CAN be a good addition to the team.
They can make good commanders, so long as they are not hypocritical. They can take at least some of the burden off the commander. So long as they are not a$$holes, they can really help the team.
But they can be annoying, especially in groups.
However, winning isnt everything.
And what server do you play on that aliens win 70-80% of the time. I play usually on H2O and the marines win roughly half the time. And if aliens win that much, what would be the harm of having an extra gorge for a few rounds. Even the odds some times. The game gets boring if you do the same thing repeatedly, that is why I have given up on almost every RTS that I have played to death. NS has the possibility of being one of the best RTS games out there simply because of its constantly dynamic and unpredictable style.
I at times inadvertantly slip into this mode. I am not totally leet, but after dealing with idiots for several games in succession, i find myself bossing team mates around, yelling for support, etc.
Gibby, because it takes up 33 rescources, and most importantly time, from the gorges. With that the gorge could have put up some DC, OC, or RT. Or even 40% of a hive. For what benefit, a few more dead marines?
Well there's players who believe WINNING is everything. They're entitled to play too. So those of us who thinks a GOOD GAME is more important than WINNING should perhaps also consider going for the hard core effective super strat once in a while. WINNER types compromise by playing "Fair" games sometimes, and FUN GAME types compromise by accepting the super elite hardcore strat sometimes. And we can all be happy.
I commend you for the ideas, but I think you are being overly sterotypical and harsh.
I enjoy going gorge... so does that make me Mr. "l337"? I think not. But a lot of people occasionally partake is some element of that long list you posted, and are not in any sense bad players.
While this may be an issue, the way you stated the problem doesn't patiularly clarify the situation, or help your arguement in any case.
EDIT: apparently someone set up the language filter to replace the more common way of typing leet with "elite". Changed to save clarity.
