<div class="IPBDescription">about the basics</div> I looked through a lot of tutorials but I can't find a really good one.

What really puzzles me is how does the commander see through the ceiling? Does the ceiling have to be some sort of solid enity? I know that I set the height for the eye level of the commander.

If I remember correctly, commanders can automatically see through the first solid brush, like ceilings. Anything after that needs to be textured with the NULL texture or made a func_seethrough.

They can see through the ceeling because the parts of the brush that are outside the map are deleted fromt he .bsp when yo compile. So there's nothing there to block the cmm's sight. It's just like if you have noclip on and you go outside the map you can see through the walls/ceeling into the map.

or you could put the see through texture over the top of the room roofs.
