<div class="IPBDescription">for ns_reche...</div> Hey there! I'm looking for a few textures to help give my map a better atmosphere. It is set on a station known as reche. It is a research outpost/hotel and is quite popluar with the tourists! In fact, the viewing area on the surface is said to be the most romantic spot in the galaxy!
You may think the mixture of a hotel and a research station is a little odd, but the station is inside an asteroid in the farthest reaches of the Ariadne Arm, and is frequently passed by space travellers. The decision to add a hotel was made 10 earth years before the kharra showed up, so people have had plenty of time to settle. The research part, however, has remained locked. Until a "dormant" hive that was brought in for testing suddenly became active. The rest you can guess.
Anyway, what i am looking for right now texture wise is a few advertisements like in original HL, things like "Join the TSA for a life of adventure and danger!" and suchlike. If you think you can help me, reply to this topic or contact me on my AIM adress, kleer200. I will need additional "hotel style" textures at a later date, but if you dont want to help with them you dont have to.

    there was a "more seroius" threrad once , about possible slogans for (ingame) NS advertisements like:

    "Phasgates inc. we frag"
    "Gorgewebbing. Belt-Systems"
    "Umbra Deodorizer. for Fades and Gorges."
    "Blink Systems. We show you places you cant imagine"
    "Aspirine +J . for all the jetpackers needs."
    "Chuckle, the only real surround sound"

    I added postersto my early NS maps (ns_next, ns_one). Flayra said they detracted form the atmosphere and asked me to take them out <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    The posters included :
    1st world war recriutment poster tweaked to read "your species needs you!"
    Yamzaki Aerospace (following the release of yama's dropship prefab)
    Interstellar Business Machines (complete with big blue acronym and horizontal scanlines)
    Tyrell Cybernetics (close up on an owls face, with the tag line "more real than real")
    "Building better worlds" (in red on a yellow pyramid with a black background)

    Now I think about it nearly all of those could have got us sued if they'd been made offical...

    Hmm... you may be right. But still, i need other textures! I need "posh hotel" style textures (if you know what i mean) and infested versions of them. Anyway, these posters will add to the atmosphere, being in the hotel area where you would expect them! I am pushing for officialness on this one if possible, so good textures are a must. Please people HELP ME!

    "Hotel", that can be a whole lot of things. More exact, metal-like? Wood? Pavement? Wooden floor?

    I'm looking for a classy kinda hotel, you know like expensive carpets, lots of red and gold, rich, deep colours. That kinda hotel.

    Hah, funny this should come up. A long long time ago, I was doing a map called the "Flayritis Clinic" (theres a bit of a story behind that, ask me later). Anyway, I started a topic in the forums asking for advirtisements to fill up space around the map, and I got a bunch of em. They're on CD, so I'll come back with em in a few minutes...
